AMPSURF presents the Surf On Saturdays (SOS) and VetSurf program at Addie Street Surfer Parking Lot in Pismo Beach. This event brings together Veterans, local disabled individuals, and First Responders on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. Participants can enjoy camaraderie and surfing, whether they are experienced surfers or new to the sport. Certified Surf Instructors are on hand to provide lessons, and all necessary equipment is supplied by AmpSurf. Veterans who attend four sessions can receive a free surfboard and wetsuit. The schedule includes meet and greet at 8:30 AM, surf instruction from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and a shuttle from Fresno VA (currently on hold). Those interested in learning to surf should bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and a picture ID. AmpSurf's mission is to promote adaptive surfing and outdoor activities for individuals with disabilities and their families.
