Van Buren Youth Fair offers an opportunity to connect in-school learning with real world experiences and gives the youth a small portion of what 4-H has to offer. Participants are given the opportunity to learn about the world around them through fun hands on activities. All of the experiments will assist the youth in expanding their knowledge. Youth are given the role of a scientist and more.
Exhibitor will showcase Demolition Derby, Off Road Demo Derby, Power Wheels for kids ages, Quad & ATV obstacle racing, Super Farm Tractors, Four Wheel Drive Trucks, Super Stock Combo even so much more.

Embroidery on Postcards and Photographs | ART EMERGENCY

This three-hour class will begin with basic stitch samples on a cardstock template and then move into design and preparation of the final artwork. Instruction will also cover composition and color, pre-punching holes in stages, how to recover from mistakes and paper collapse and simple framing options.
Participants are encouraged to bring family photo reproductions if they choose (best if printed on matte, not glossy photo paper), however they may also select items from the artist’s extensive photo and postcard collection.
Take-home embroidery kits will be provided including stitch template, needle threader, cardboard, embroidery thread, punching needle and embroidery needles.
This class is limited to 8 participants
There are no cash refunds, however the price of the class can be used as credit in a future class, either for yourself or a gift to another, credit towards private lessons or a deposit on a custom commission paper garment.

Squirrel Flower is the witch rock project of Ella Williams. Currently based in Chicago, by way of Iowa and Boston, Ella crafts songs from silk threads, weaving layers of vocal arrangements and sparse, sometimes distorted guitar with sentient observations about internal and external worlds.
LAAND (Lawrence All-Ages Noise Destination) is a cooperatively-run arts organization in Lawrence, KS. Our aim is to create an open, supportive, and culturally vibrant space and foster a DIT (do-it-together) community through music concerts, experiential learning, and volunteer opportunities for all ages.
We strive to create meaningful and memorable events that are unique to Lawrence. Since 2017, we have been hosting music events primarily at the White Schoolhouse in North Lawrence. LAAND is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
ACCESSIBILITY: There are 2 stairs to enter the front doors of the White Schoolhouse. Once inside, there are half-staircases up to the bathrooms and down into the concert area.
A ll LAAND events are all ages and we do not permit outside alcohol to be brought to the show.
