Graham Royle
, Founder and CEO of GRI Group and Connect Yorkshire EIR
For our July Masterclass, we have one of our long-standing Entrepreneurs in Residence and one of South Yorkshires biggest Entrepreneurs, Dr Graham Royle. Graham will discuss his journey from a working class childhood to business success. We will discover the origins of GRI Group, from the early days of the business, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them to grow GRI Group to the global player they are today.
Graham’s early career successes were in the corporate world, where he was headhunted several times in his 20’s and 30’s, and travelled globally gaining practical, commercial, financial, technical, and manufacturing expertise. During this time Graham headed up a number of businesses and was also involved in several acquisitions, which now total >35 deals career-to-date.
In 2001 Graham created and developed his own group of businesses, GRI Group, by a combination of strategic acquisitions and the creation of new enterprises.
Over the years, GRI Group have invested heavily in technology, manufacturing capability and personnel expertise, ensuring their ability to offer their global customers the very best in World Class products and services. This has resulted in more than 20 prestigious industry awards, with more on the horizon.
GRI Group has acquired, incorporated, and sold a number of enterprises over the years, and presently has 3 highly successful trading companies - Libra Speciality Chemicals Ltd, Expac (Preston) Ltd and I Love Cosmetics Ltd. No surprise to hear that Graham is actively working on additional acquisition investment opportunities.
The combined turnover of GRI Group’s past and present trading businesses reached some £300 million p.a. and in 2025 GRI Group is celebrating its 25th birthday, highlighting its total 25 years of sales at >£2 billion.
As part of our business model, we have partners from the professional service sector (lawyers, accountants, recruiters etc), who pay to have exclusivity in our group.
So unfortunately as we already have partners in these sectors, if you are in the professional service sector, you will not be able to attend our events going forward.
