Veera: The Origins of Courage | Central Park Performance Pavillion
Jun 11, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Fremont
Welcome to Veera ("Courage")!
Join us at the
Central Park Performance Pavilion
for an evening filled with music, dance, and fun! Veera is a celebration of culture and community's power to nurture bravery, resilience, and strength.
Set against the tranquil backdrop of Lake Elizabeth, woven with the words of famed Indian social reformers and pioneering female Opera composers, brought to life by breathtaking live musical accompaniment…this is not your average Bharatanatyam/Carnatic performance; it's an immersive experience under the open sky.
The Modern Natya Company presents this thoughtful, family-friendly exploration of how cultural traditions teach us about equitable leadership, community, and taking care of each other.
So grab your friends and family, pack a picnic blanket, and join us at Central Park (or online) for an evening you won't forget!
Pre-Registration through Eventbrite required.
In-person seating is limited to the first 200 attendees. Please RSVP online in advance and arrive promptly.
Veera was developed by
The Modern Natya Company
(a project of
Swetha Prabakaran Productions
)
with the support of Center for Cultural Innovation and Voices of Bhakti Fellowship by Interfaith America. Earlier versions of the work were supported by the IMPACT Genesis Residency.
This event is co-presented by the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center (APICC) as part of the 28th annual United States of Asian America Festival , which is made possible thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts, San Francisco Arts Commission Grants for the Arts, Fleishhacker Foundation, and other generous supporters.
