However be ready for some potential scrambling and/or ridge walking. You need to have enough stamina and fitness for being ready to hike multiple days in a row, for multiple hours. We will walk up and down mountains every day.The Munros are mountains in Scotland with elevation of over 3,000 ft (914.4 mt). See the Munros map hereHave a look at this YouTube channel to have an idea of what type of walks we will be doing. The channel includes videos of the walks we want to do.Full details of the event (including the hiking routes) will be announced later. The event dates might change slightly, depending on different factors. If you don't live locally, you will need to book an accommodation. You are free to choose your own accommodation. If there is available space, you can stay in the same accommodation with the organisers. We could also link you to other people that are going to attend this event and are looking for an accommodation. You can travel on your own, but you are also welcome to travel with the organisers and/or with other people attending the event. We can link you to them if you like. You don't have to stay with us for all days. You can decide to join us only some of the walks, depending on what days you are available. For example you could join us only for 2-3 days.If you want to stay in the same accommodation with the organisers, we'll ask you to help us with the cooking and/or cleaning in the evening. There will be also a refundable deposit to pay.The planned walks are in the Fort William area, therefore we recommend you to choose an accommodation near there. We prefer our regular walkers to join this event. But exceptions can be made. We'll ask you to try to attend at least one of our events in the Peak District, so that we meet you in person and assess your skills. If you can't join any of our other events, we will need to have a quick interview with you, to find out more about your hiking experience and fitness. We need to make sure you have the necessary experience and fitness. This is important for the safety of yourself and the rest of the group. The terrain in the Highlands is often rocky. Proper hiking boots are necessary. The full list of required and suggested equipment will be announced later.Be aware we will find midges during our staying in the Highlands. I recommend bringing a midge repellant to minimise the discomfort.Anyone joining this walk is responsible for their safety and health (including guests). The group does not have any insurance policy covering injuries. If you join this event, you agree to these conditions. If you have any questions, please contact the event organiser. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK, standing at 1,344 meters (4,409 ft) above sea level. It is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, near the town of Fort William. The route we’ll take is the Glen Nevis route, which follows the river through the beautiful middle section of Glen Nevis, before returning through the forest. When: Sunday 24 August 2025 - 8.00 am Meeting Point: Visitor Centre, Glen Nevis, Fort William, PH33 6PF Next Steps: · Sign up for the Ben Nevis Challenge. · Registration Fee is £19.99 (or book all 3 Peaks for £50). · Plan and prepare for the trek. · Promote the trek in your local area/community. · Tell your friends and family that you are taking part in a charity challenge to help save lives. · Use your JustGiving page to promote the challenge on Facebook and other social media platforms. On the trek, you’ll receive: · A free Imran Khan Cancer Appeal T-shirt (to wear with pride). · A certificate of completion at the end. · First Aid support in the event of emergencies. Environmental Responsibility: During the trek, please respect the natural beauty of Ben Nevis. Do not litter, stay on designated paths, and be mindful of the environment. Fundraising: There is a £150 minimum fundraising target for each trek. This excludes the £19.99 Registration Fee (or £50.00 to sign up for all 3 Peaks -saving you £9.97!) which will cover event management expenses such as the fees of trek guides, light refreshments for the trek, and first aid. The amount that you raise will go directly towards providing free cancer treatment for needy patients at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospitals in Lahore and Peshawar. To make fundraising easier, we recommend setting up a JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/Shaukat. It’s quick, easy and saves you from having to collect wads of cash. Once you’ve got one, all you’ll need to do is forward your JustGiving page link to friends and contacts, and they can donate online, directly to Imran Khan Cancer Appeal. You can also share updates and pictures on JustGiving so everyone who sponsors you can keep track of your progress. Your efforts make a significant impact on our cause, and every contribution counts.
