Jul 1, 2025 (UTC+1)
Llandough
Cultural Experiences
An opportunity to visit Horatio’s Garden Wales for a private tour. Every Horatio’s Garden is created by a leading designer and rarely open to the public. This tour offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the restorative garden and learn more about its key design features and style, the benefits of horticultural therapy and the impact of gardens on wellbeing. Horatio’s Garden Wales was designed by award-winning, three-time RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winner Sarah Price, renowned for her artistic, naturalistic planting style in such projects as the Olympic Park and a garden at Manchester’s Whitworth Gallery. Visit us in July for bursts of color from salvias, geraniums, and lavender fill the garden, framed by airy seed heads from grasses swaying in the breeze. Find out more about Horatio's Garden Wales here . Led Horatio's Garden Wales Head Gardener, Owen Griffiths, you will have time to talk and learn about the charity, discover the incredible variety of plants and the individual design elements of the garden and time to enjoy the uplifting and vibrant space around you. Hot beverages and homemade cake will be available and there will be a selection of plants and Horatio’s Garden merchandise on sale, if you wish to have a memento of your visit. You will be gifted a plant list specific to the garden and a beautiful enamel Horatio’s Garden pin badge, so you can continue to show your support long after your visit. The tour will begin at 10am and lasts 1.5 hours. We would advise you to arrive in good time to allow time for parking if you are driving and making your way to the garden. In case of rain and adverse conditions; suitable clothing should be worn. All profits from tickets purchased will go directly to the charity, to enable Horatio's Garden to continue to nurture lives after spinal injury. Numbers are limited and a ticket must be purchased for everyone in your party. Horatio’s Garden reserves the right to cancel your tour. In this unlikely event, we will contact you directly to give you the option of an alternative tour date or full refund. “ It’s a little snippet of heaven that makes visits more like a family gathering rather than a hospital visit. ” Information on directions, parking and other frequently asked questions are included in our FAQ information sheet available here . Distinguished guests, sweethearts and scoundrels, dreamers and ghosters, welcome. Tonight, your ever-optimistic emcee Razmatastic (Maria Ansdell’s semi-autobiographical, French-accented alter ego) invites you to share the saga of her love life and the twisted world of modern dating. Set in an imaginary cabaret, we see a lifetime of caricatured exes brought to the stage for their very final performance - all in pursuit of that magical, fix-all solution: closure. From Billy the Playground Pirate to dangerous cowboy ‘Ol Smokey Joe and poet extraordinaire Lazarus Velour, Razmatastic investigates and interrogates the figures she once loved so deeply. With a healthy dose of audience participation, spectators become integral to how these cabaret acts unfold. As the night continues and the heartbreakers grow more outrageous, she gradually sheds her comic bravado to expose the truths lurking beneath the laughter. A vaudevillian spoof and emotional exorcism in one, hold on tight as we try to let go; at the Closure Cabaret, we summon the spirits of our romantic misadventures, and dance on the ashes of love lost and longed for. 'MILLWALL JEW' WITH IVOR DEMBINA Friday, 19th July | 9pm'One day I got sick of people assuming that because I am a Jew I support Tottenham Hotspur''Millwall Jew' is a comedy show about how, at the age of 71, a south London Jewish comedian decided to swear allegiance to his nearest local football club, Millwall F.C. Ivor Dembina is the UK's favourite and funniest Jewish stand-up comic, and he returns to the PEN to celebrate the birth of 'Millwall Jew' at the same venue where it was born. He's on his way, with the show, to this year's Edinburgh Festival where, over the years, he has already collected an armful of four-star and five-star reviews and an Editor's Pick of the Fringe Award. What better place to celebrate than at south London's most exciting fringe theatre, the PEN? Its not only where 'Millwall Jew' was first performed, but, appropriately enough, the venue stands right in the shadow of Millwall F.C.'s home ground, The Den.
