Let the kids go WILD on the Nature Reserve during the school holidays! Your child will have the opportunity to make new friends, play games, explore, discover wildlife, learn new skills and help to prepare an healthy vegetarian lunch (included - children are welcome to bring their own pack lunch if preferred).
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to our agreement requirements with OFSTED, we are
not currently able to accept children under 8 years old
to our holiday clubs. Please make sure you check your child meets the age requirements before booking them on.
All young people must be dropped off by an adult, who must confirm their emergency contact details and who will be collecting their child with the member of staff at the arrival point.
All our sessions will be held entirely outside, so please ensure your child(ren) are dressed appropriately for the weather (hat scarf, suncream, waterproofs as appropriate to the season) and be aware that is can be a tad cooler in the woods than elsewhere. They will also need closed toed shoes and you may prefer to send them in long trousers as there are stinging nettles and midges in the woods. It is very likely we will pass through a field with livestock, where there is a higher risk of encountering ticks. Information on ticks and the prevention of Lyme disease can be found on

Workshop: Robin willow sculpture workshop (ELC 2806) | Lackford Lakes Nature Reserve

Handmake your own robin sculpture in this workshop with willow artist Toni Cross.
The robin is made from a mixture of different willow varieties, as well as some coloured wire, and is mounted on a small log. The finished robin sculpture stands around 40-50cm. We work with willow which has been grown in Somerset and specially dried. In order to be suitable for weaving it is then soaked to make it pliable.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, and those with some experience. Some degree of finger strength and dexterity is required.
All materials included, however if you wish to bring preferred secateurs or garden cutters, you are welcome to do so.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. The cafe will be open for the duration, serving savoury food and sweet treats.

Discover the art of glass fusing in this hands-on, creative workshop! Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike, this class will guide you through the process of transforming pieces of colorful glass into unique, fused designs.
During the workshop, you'll learn about:
Cutting and layering glass.
The properties of glass and how it behaves in the kiln.
Design techniques for creating stunning fused glass pieces, such as jewelry, coasters, or small decorative art.
With guidance from myself , an experienced teacher, you will craft your own unique creations which I will fire for you in my garden studio and return them to you with in a week. You will have beautiful finished pieces to cherish or give as a thoughtful gift.

That’s What I Call…DRAG!” is BACK with THE BIG FAB PRIDE SHOW! That's right, it is PRIDE season and we are bringing the celebrations started for the 3rd year running with a fabulous night of entertainment from some of East Anglia's finest performers across the community! Expect everything from fabulous lip synching to stunning live vocals, camp comedy and burlesque all in the name of PRIDE!
Hosted by East Anglia's dynamite drag duo Knuckle Sandwich and Will Power (with special guests TBA!) you'll be in for the night of your lives! So let's throw on some glitter and get loud and proud as the drag mixtape begins! Trust us, you won't want it to end!
We welcome everyone to come dressed to show their PRIDE! Pride is about visibility, protest, and total queer power, and we'd love to see everyone out and proud, and free to express themselves!
ALL profits raised from the event will be donated to LGBTQIA+ charities. We feel it is now more important than ever to come together as a community and ensure people have the access to vital services and organisations. We will proudly be donating profits between “Not A Phase” and “The OutHouse”, 2 fantastic organisations who provide excellent support and services to people who need it in the community.

Join us for outdoor discovery and play on the nature reserve with our Engagement Officer.
Wild Tots gives children and their families the opportunity to learn and play together outdoors. Guided and child-led hands-on experiences help build confidence, encourage creativity, improve communication and language, develop fine and gross motor skills and, importantly, create shared memories for children and adults.
Time: 10am-11:30am.
Wild Tots sessions are aimed at children aged 18 months to 5 years.
Babies in arms/baby-carrier/pushchair are welcome to accompany an older sibling to the session.

Are you looking for hands on practical experience, an opportunity to get outdoors, a chance to earn your Duke of Edinburgh award or a way to meet new friends? If so, Young Wardens if the group for you!
Activities vary throughout the year but include; learning to use tools to safely carry out practical tasks that contribute to the management of the reserve; carrying out surveys of key wildlife species, providing information that helps to inform conservation activities on the reserve.
Please note the age range for Young Wardens before booking. We have volunteering opportunities for ages 17+, please contact us for more information.
All Young Wardens need to be dropped off by an adult who can confirm their emergency contact details at the start of the session. Please do not send young wardens to the session alone as they will not be able to participate.

Exploring natural dyes with trees and leaves EOC 2806 | Bradfield Woods National Nature Reserve

Celebrate summer by exploring the wonderful range of vibrant colours that can be achieved with a range of tree leaves and barks. A sister course to the autumn focus on tree tannins, this course will see you discover a wide range of vibrant golds, yellows and oranges. Find the colours hidden away inside the trees of Bradfield woods and use them to dye some test skeins and samplers. Enjoy the surrounding of these ancient woods and relax with some simple braiding techniques or tree twine making while the dye pots develop.
Suitable for complete beginners.
Fay first learnt about dyeing when she was a Tudor re-enactor at Kentwell Hall. She has built up an eclectic knowledge of native dye plants and their identification.
Please come suitably prepared for the British weather.
Tea and coffee will be served throughout the day and are included in the price. Please bring a packed lunch.

Open to all levels of photographer from beginners to experts. Kevin will guide you on the techniques you can employ to capture the perfect summer woodland images and provide you with some hints & tips for getting the best out of your camera. You will receive one-to-one as well as group guidance on optimising your photography and have the chance to put some novel techniques into practice.
You will need to bring
:
A packed lunch
All camera equipment (including spare batteries, memory cards)
Various lenses if you have them from telephoto to wide angle and macro
A tripod would be useful
Any refreshments you may need out on the reserve including a packed lunch.
Notebook and pen
Please wear stout footwear and weather-suitable clothing for the outdoor session, but be prepared with a hat and sunscreen if the day is very hot.

Start at Minal cricket club cricket club, run up through the beautiful Thickets Wood, across the stunning Marlborough downs and back towards Minal along a traffic free Sustrans route. The final mile will see you running through meadows and along fields back to the cricket club for a medal and a well deserved pat on the back.

Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, our instructors will guide you through the steps and techniques of this iconic dance style.
