2025 North Dakota Firefighter's Convention | North Dakota State Fair Center
Jun 5, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Minot
North Dakota Firefighter Association Members
The members of the Mouse River Firefighters Association have been working hard preparing to host the 141th North Dakota Firefighters Association State Convention. This year's convention will be held on June-5-6-7, 2025 in Minot, ND.
We have implemented an online registration process where you will find registration forms for the Convention, Golf Tournament, Pistol Shoot, and Spouse's Program. A Fallen Firefighter form and a listing of available local hotels is also included. If you have not secured hotel accommodation, please do so as soon as possible as they are filling up fast.
Our Keynote address will be presented by Tiger Schmittendorf. His “Are You Ready for Your Next Recruit?” presentation will take a retention-first attitude to evaluate the type of environment you’re inviting new members into. Would you honestly describe your firehouse as inviting, welcoming, stable, open, and accepting – or as in transition; toxic and cancerous; or just a disorganized hot mess? Does what you’re selling match up to what they’ll see when they peek behind the curtain? He will identify opportunities and share best practices for today’s public safety leaders to attract and retain the appropriate quantity and quality of volunteers they need to support the delivery of emergency services in their communities.
Saturday morning, Tiger will also present his FirefighterStorytellers.com workshop. As highlighted in numerous books, posts, and magazine articles – even non-firefighters understand the value of storytelling in the fire service as a means of sharing our experiences, values, history, heritage and traditions. Framed within the context of his primary websites, he’ll use personal anecdotes to share the significance of brotherhood, servant leadership and training our replacements; and the importance of always putting first-family-first! Expect to laugh and maybe even cry as we speak the common language that connects us all: storytelling.
For your convenience, courtesy vans have been lined up for Thursday’s welcome social and our Friday night banquet. Park your vehicle at the hotels and let us do all the driving to the scheduled events for you.
Please have all registration forms for the convention, golf tournament, pistol shooting and spouse's program turned into us by May 12th. Fallen Firefighter Memorial information needs to be submitted by 1 May 2025.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Minot!!!
