On Belay - Rock Climbing | South Gate Road

AGE REQUIREMENT: 14+ years old
Come join Save Mount Diablo for a day of beginning rock climbing instruction at Mount Diablo's classic Boy Scout Rocks. We will go over equipment instruction as well as coaching on a number of top rope climbs, and provide insight into the importance of climbing stewardship at both climbing areas and in outdoor recreation. Rock climbing is a very fun activity with great benefits.
Be sure to bring snacks, water, sturdy shoes you are comfortable hiking in, and rock-climbing shoes. SMD will provide harness, ropes, hardware necessary and instruction.
Heavy rain cancels.
***There will be a $10 park entrance fee (exact change in cash required)

Are dogs allowed on Discover Diablo hikes?
No. Some Discover Diablo hikes take place on land owned by other organizations (such as Mount Diablo State Park & East Bay Regional Park lands) and many of the trails on these properties have a strict no-dog policy.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No. On the hike day, we will have a roster with your registration information on it. Please make sure to check in with the hike leader.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes. If you would like to change anything, please reach out to discoverdiablo@savemountdiablo.org.

Often misunderstood, bats are incredibly beneficial wildlife in our ecosystems. Learn about their amazing adaptations with an indoor presentation, followed by a short hike outside to see them in flight. An echo-location device will help identify any bats around us. $5/person, space is limited and pre-registration is required. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Schoolhouse Soiree is back for another year. Our summer fundraiser, traditionally held at the Tassajara One Room School is a night you won't want to miss.
Anticipate a one-of-a-kind evening, blending casual charm with an elegant ambiance. This event will take place al fresco, amidst the picturesque grounds encircling the Tassajara School House, also known as the One Room School House, situated at 1650 Finley Road in Danville. This historic schoolhouse served as an educational hub for four generations of San Ramon Valley children, spanning from 1889 to 1946.
This year's fundraiser aims to generate funds specifically allocated to support our educational programs. Your generous contribution toward this objective would be immensely valued and appreciated.
This year the evening’s activities will include:
Tour of the schoolhouse by a docent in period wardrobe
Program MC'd by local talent
Live music throughout the evening
A game of history trivia
A delightful outdoor dinner served beneath the grandeur of black walnut trees
Wine, beer and other beverages
Unique artifacts from the museum’s collections
Outdoor and schoolhouse games
