Join us for an evening with bestselling authors Laura Lippman and Megan Abbott as they discuss their new novels. About Laura Lippman's Murder Takes a Vaction Highly acclaimed New York Times bestselling author Laura Lippman returns with an irresistible mystery featuring Muriel Blossom, a former private investigator and middle-aged widow whose vacation on a Parisian river cruise turns into a deadly international mystery…that only she can solve. Mrs. Blossom has a knack for blending into the background, which was an asset during her days assisting private investigator Tess Monaghan. But when she finds a winning lottery ticket in a parking lot, everything changes. She is determined to see the world that she sometimes feels is passing her by. When Mrs. Blossom booked her cruise through France on the MS Solitaire, she did not expect to meet Allan on her transatlantic flight. He is the first man who’s sparked something inside her since her beloved husband passed. She also didn’t expect Allan to be found, dead, twenty-four hours later in Paris, a city he wasn’t supposed to be in. Now Mrs. Blossom doesn’t know who to trust on board the ship, especially when a mystifying man, Danny, keeps popping up around every corner, always present when things go awry. He is convinced that Allan was transporting a stolen piece of art, and Mrs. Blossom knows more than she lets on, regarding both the artifact and Allan’s death. Mrs. Blossom’s questions only increase as the cruise sails down the Seine. Why does it feel like she is being followed? Who was Allan, and why was he killed? Most alarmingly, why do these mysterious men keep flirting with her? About Megan Abbott's El Dorado Drive From the New York Times bestselling author of The Turnout comes a simmering, atmospheric novel of friendship and betrayal, following a women-led pyramid scheme in suburban Detroit. All I want is to be innocent again. But that’s not how it works. Especially not after the Wheel. The three Bishop sisters grew up in privilege in the moneyed suburbs of Detroit. But as the auto industry declined, so did their fortunes. Harper, the youngest, is barely making ends meet when her beloved, charismatic sister Pam—currently in the middle of a contentious battle with her ex-husband—and her eldest sister, Debra, approach her about joining an exciting new club. The Wheel offers women like themselves—middle-aged and of declining means—a way to make their own money, independent of husbands or families. Quickly, however, the Wheel’s success, and their own addiction to it, leads to greater and greater risks—and a crime so shocking it threatens to bring everything down with it. Megan Abbott turns her keen eye toward women and money in El Dorado Drive, a riveting story about power, vulnerability, and how desperation draws out our most destructive impulses. About the Authors: SinceLaura Lippman’s debut, she has been recognized as a distinctive voice in mystery fiction and named one of the “essential” crime writers of the last 100 years. Stephen King called her “special, even extraordinary,” and Gillian Flynn wrote, “She is simply a brilliant novelist.” Her books have won most of the major awards in her field and been translated into more than twenty-five languages. In 2025, Lippman was named a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America, a lifetime achievement award whose recipients have included Agatha Christie, Michael Connelly, Graham Greene, P.D. James, Elmore Leonard and Walter Mosley. She lives in Baltimore and New Orleans with her teenager. Megan Abbott is the Edgar award-winning author of eleven crime novels, including You Will Know Me, Give Me Your Hand and the New York Times bestseller The Turnout, the winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. She received her Ph.D. in English and American literature from New York University and her writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Guardian, the Paris Review and the Wall Street Journal. Dare Me, the series she adapted from her own novel, now streaming on Netflix. Independence day Celebration
Description Celebrate the 4th of July with Common Tone at The Charmery Factory! There will be live music, crafts, face painting, ice cream (of course), and more! We understand that fireworks aren't for everyone. Sometimes our littles and furry friends can become overstimulated by loud noises and flashing lights. So, instead of fireworks, we are using BUBBLES to celebrate our nation's biggest holiday! Bubbles will be provided, but feel free to bring your own bubble machines! Each ticket will receive one free kiddie scoop of ice cream from The Charmery. Registration Tickets are per child. Adults can participate free of charge. Information Source: Common Tone | eventbrite

When was the last time you did something completely spontaneous? Our series groups together complete strangers for a fun night out. That's right, you sign up, and we book the restaurant. This is our dinner with filmmakers edition for you creatives! Don't do city life alone and build your community with us. Our goal is to service 1,000 cities or anywhere loneliness exists. These gatherings are based on table reservations via Opentable, Resy, or other platforms, and are not directly associated with the restaurant of choice. Please register or send an inquiry to learn about the secret restaurant of the night. We are dealing with strangers after all, so privacy and safety are priorities. This micro-event is intended to be for 4-6 people maximum. Check out our feature in Eventbrite's 2025 TRNDS report about embracing the micro-event trend. Please see here for our coverage in Nashville Fox 17's Growing Nashville segment. How does it work? After you register, you'll be emailed an introduction message including a quick questionnaire. *Your registration does not include your individual food and drink purchases. A paid ticket simply makes you more committed to actually showing up. *These outings are intended to help people make friends . These are not singles gatherings . *If we don't meet our minimum number of registrants for the evening you sign up, please be open to joining us on another evening! We will complete table reservations after we hit our minimum signups, so you may reach out to us before signing up for or after you sign up to see our progress with registrations for the evening. *If you sign up the day of the gathering and do not get a message from us in time, simply email ermantourageimpact@gmail.com, request a refund, or please be open to joining us on another evening. Our vision is simple: we take the no gimmicks approach to networking. No need for yet another app to take up space on your phone - just four walls and a roof and good food for people to connect :) We coordinate with you directly, human-to-human. If you have any more questions, please contact ermantourageimpact@gmail.com ! Brought to you by event series Ermantourage . You can also take a look at our main event calendar via Posh for coffee meets, evening hangouts, and more! Information Source: Ermantourage Hollywood | eventbrite
