Guided Sheffield Football History Walks with Sheffield Home of Football. | outside nation Emergency Services Museum
Jul 5, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Gemeinde Pfaffenschlag bei Waidhofen an der Thaya
Join us for a fascinating , guided (1hr 30 minute) stroll around iconic buildings in Sheffield City Centre, as we explore the remarkable story of Sheffield, the crucible of the modern game of football. Starting at the site of the old Surrey Theatre, owned by Thomas Youdan the founder of the Youdan Cup, the first football cup competition in the world, the walk will conclude at the café at Freeman College, the former home of Lockwood Brothers, the oldest ‘works team’ in the world.
We will visit important landmarks and ‘hidden places’ steeped in heritage and hear stories about the early pioneers of the global game.
During the walk you will hear stories about the FIFA recognised oldest club in the world, Sheffield FC, Sandygate, the oldest ground in the world, and the first rules of modern football.
You will also hear about recent discoveries of forgotten Sheffield clubs and tactical innovation, from the 180 clubs that we now know were playing in Sheffield between 1857 and 1875.
The walk, designed by Sheffield Home of Football trustee, creator of the Real History of Football and First City of Football video series, and experienced Sheffield Cathedral tour guide Steve Wood and fellow trustee local author and ‘Little Chicago Quarter’ walk guide John Stocks, will last for 1 hour 30 minutes with the opportunity to ask questions at the end.

Screen Printing onto T-shirts & Cards | Printed by Us
Jul 5, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Gemeinde Pfaffenschlag bei Waidhofen an der Thaya
What will you get up to?
In this workshop you will learn how
Printed by Us
, a Social Enterprise as part of
The Archer Project
utilises the craft of hand screen-printing to empower and rehabilitate previously homeless individuals.
During the session you will screen-print your own t-shirt
(available sizes XS to 5XL)
with a choice of one of two 'Printing Positive Change' designs, as well as a pack of 4 greeting cards. This will also give you an insight into how both textile and paper screen-printing differs.
This is an introductory course, aimed at all skill levels as we focus on the mindful benefits of screen-printing and how it is used as a vehicle for positive change.
All materials will be provided.
What are the mindful benefits?
While screen printing is undeniably a technical process, it also has therapeutic benefits. Art and mental health have many intersections!
By focusing on each careful pull of the squeegee, you’re invited to be fully engaged in the act of creation, which can serve as a mental break and a way to recharge.
Studies show that engaging in creative activities can reduce anxiety, depression, and stress. It can even be used as a tool to process trauma. Artistic processes—even ones as technique-focused as screen printing—offer a productive way to process emotions, whether through visual expression or simply by providing a calming routine.
Becca Gurney of Art & Design faculty at Saint Michael’s College notes, “
It takes patience. You have to slow down with it. There is no way for it to be instant. A piece of taking care of your mental health is slowing down and being in the moment. Screen Printing allows you to do that.
”
Who are Printed by Us?
From ink to income…
Printed by Us is a community-driven initiative focused on creating supported employment opportunities to help vulnerable adults lead more fulfilling lives.
Combining the power of screen printing and creativity with a passion for social purpose, we produce high-quality screen-printed products that carry a deeper meaning.
Our team collaborate with independent artists to bring their designs to life, creating unique, handcrafted items. Each product is carefully crafted using organic and sustainably made materials, with a focus on ethical production methods.
As a Social Enterprise, all our profits go back into running more screen printing workshops, developing our project and supporting more vulnerable adults through professional development.
Our latest venture involves opening up our print-room for external workshops; Learn how we use screen-printing to develop skills and confidence and leave with a t-shirt and a pack of cards, Printed by You!

The Summer Bhayani BBQ | Triple Point Brewery + Bar
Jul 7, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Gemeinde Pfaffenschlag bei Waidhofen an der Thaya
We’re turning up the heat this summer all in the name of a great cause!
Join us with family and friends for the
Summer Bhayani BBQ
, a vibrant community celebration full of food, fun, and fundraising in support of
Sheffield Hospitals Charity
as part of this year’s
Master Cutler’s Challenge
.
This year, we’re focusing on
raising awareness and support for people living with dementia
. With dementia affecting more than 55 million people worldwide, it’s a condition that touches families, friends, and workplaces, and we’re doing our bit to help make a difference.
Why red and music?
The colour red can increase brain wave activity in people with dementia. It easily catches their attention. It’s a colour that can be seen clearly, even through to the late stages of dementia. It can even stimulate appetite. Serving food on a red plate provides clear contrast and visibility. Red is one of the final colours that a person living with dementia will be able to see.
Music is special. It reaches so many different parts of the brain at once. Music and memory have a powerful connector. Music, for people living with dementia, can light up emotional memories, reduce anxiety and help maintain speech and language.
So we’re combining the two to create an event that’s not only fun but it’s full of purpose.
Here’s what to expect at the Summer Bhayani BBQ:
• Delicious BBQ food from
Sadlergates Catering,
and refreshments from
Triple Point Brewery + Bar
• Live music performances
• A “Wear Red for Dementia” dress code to show your support in style!
• A memory board where guests can share stories or dedications to loved ones affected by dementia
• Raffles and fundraising activities with amazing prizes
• Information stands and talks to help raise awareness about dementia and the incredible work Sheffield Hospitals Charity is doing to support patients and their families
Every penny raised will go towards improving care and services for people affected by dementia across our local NHS hospitals, from sensory equipment to dementia-friendly environments and vital research.
Save the Date:
Monday 7th July 2025
Time:
Arrival from 5 pm, food served at 6 pm and last orders at the bar 9 pm.
Location:
Triple Point Brewery + Bar, 178 Shoreham St, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield S1 4SQ
Tickets/Entry:
£20.00 per adult ticket | £5.00 per child (under 16’s) ticket.
Can’t make it but still want to help?
You can still show your support by donating via our JustGiving page:
https://www.justgiving.com/page/bhayani-law-team-2
. Every donation makes a difference. We’d also love donations for our raffle prizes; any contribution is massively appreciated and goes straight to this incredible cause. If you would like to donate a raffle prize, please email hello@bhayanilaw.co.uk.
Let’s come together, fire up the grill, and make a real impact. Whether you’re a friend, family member, colleague or simply part of the local community, your support matters.

Faith in the City @ 40 (North) | Victoria Hall
Jul 12, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Gemeinde Pfaffenschlag bei Waidhofen an der Thaya
Faith in the City 40th Anniversary (North)
2025 marks the 40th Anniversary of the publication of the influential report of Archbishop Runcie’s Commission on Urban Priority Areas. While the Thatcher government rejected it as “naive Marxism, and largely ignored its recommendations to the nation, it was followed by more than a decade of extensive initiatives in urban mission in the Church of England and other denominations.
Much has changed over 40 years, but issues of urban poverty and injustice have not disappeared, and there are few signs that Churches and other Christian activity are flourishing in such places. Indeed there are signs that neither government nor church are making them a priority for action and investment, and that people living there are increasingly feeling left behind.
This conference, one of a series of events across the country, is a chance to reflect on the theology and practice of urban mission, then and now. There will be input from leading practitioners who were involved in the 1980s, and those who are leading mission and church activities today.
It will be of interest to anyone who lives and works in the inner city, or on social housing estates. We hope it will encourage and inform, and be a catalyst for a renewed movement to develop Faith in the City and hope in urban churches and communities.
