Monthly Family forest adventures! Join Dan or Sophie in the woods as they take you to explore our forest school with group activities, games, and fun free-flow stations. Our mornings always have the following and then we add different stations, games and crafts each month. . Forest crafts . Whittling . Rope swing . Hammocks . Den building . Our sessions primarily follow the Forest School ethos of child led learning, we are usually in the woods playing and exploring and encouraging a deep connection with the woodland environment. Activities can include hammocks, whittling, invertebrate hunting, woodland crafts, swings, bridge building, tool use and fire lighting. Please note that we will not be providing lunch for this session. Every child needs a packed lunch that is suitable to stay in their rucksack. Please send your young person with a water bottle for the day, refills will be available. All our sessions will be held entirely outside, so please ensure your child(ren) are dressed appropriately for the weather (hat scarf, suncream, waterproofs as appropriate to the season) and be aware that can be a tad cooler in the woods than elsewhere. They will also need closed toed shoes and you may prefer to send them in long trousers as there are stinging nettles and midges in the woods. Please do not allow your young person to bring a mobile phone. During high winds, our sessions may well be based in and around the yard if we feel it is unsafe to be in the woods. if we feel conditions are too unsafe to run at all, we will contact you. All young people must be dropped off by an adult, who must confirm their emergency contact details with the member of staff at the arrival point, before departing along with confirming who will be collecting said child.
