Group bike ride, Maiden Bradley loop: Level 3 advanced | Victoria Park Cafe

Join us on a friendly social bike ride! We'll be following a beautiful 20-mile route looping around the south of Frome and stopping at The Bradley Pantry for refreshments. Check out our route here. There are a few hills along the way and we'll be riding faster than our shorter rides, so we've graded this as an advanced level ride. No one will be left behind and we have planned in lots of stops along the way. We'll be out for about 3 hours, including a cafe stop. This ride is for adults over the age of 18, with a good level of fitness and good road safety awareness. You will need to bring a roadworthy bike. Ebikes and non-ebikes are all welcome. It is free to take part but numbers are limited, so please book your free place. Meet us near the bandstand in Victoria Park, off Weymouth Road, Frome, BA11 1HJ. This Cycle Together event has been made possible thanks to National Lottery funding and is part of Green and Healthy Frome which offers support and activities to make choices that are good for your health and the health of the planet. Introduction to Creative Writing Course | Portesham Village Hall

Welcome to the Introduction to Creative Writing Course!
This six-week course introduces you to the art of creative writing, focusing on short story writing and poetry. An additional four-week course will follow later in the year for creative non-fiction.
During the course, participants will learn how to craft stories and poetry that engage readers. You will be asked to reflect on what you enjoy and why you like it as this informs how you write yourself. In every session, you will practice what you learn.
There are two optional assignments to complete, if you want to. The first is a short story and the second is a poem. You can use the knowledge and skills gained through the course to create the best possible writing. Each piece will be assessed and an individual feedback session will be arranged for everyone who submits assignments on time.
The course is delivered on consecutive Friday evenings from 1st April 7 pm - 9 pm at Portesham Village Hall in West Dorset. A maximum of ten participants ensures everyone gets the best possible learning experience.
Your course leader is Linda Parkinson-Hardman, author, writer, publisher, coach and mentor. Linda has written and published extensively and also organises the (almost) annual Hysteria Writing Competition on behalf of

Family Wildlife Wander around Hardy Monument | Hardy Monument National Trust Car Park

Join us for a family walk around the Hardy Monument, we will be joined by ecology experts who will help us find and identify lots of bugs, flowers and trees.
This is a dog friendly walk.
Please bring a packed lunch with you.
The ticket price is £3 per family. One adult pays, everyone else goes FREE.
All proceeds from this walk will go to the National Trust.
