Friday Social Special - Blood on the Clocktower (20th June) | The Dice Box Cafe Peterborough
Jun 20, 2025 (UTC+1)
Peterborough
Blood on the Clocktower @ The Dice Box Cafe
Our classic Blood on the Clocktower event with the awesome BoTC community here in Peterborough.
On the stroke of midnight...
During a hellish thunderstorm, a scream echoes through the sleepy town of Ravenswood Bluff. The townsfolk rush to investigate and find the beloved local storyteller has been murdered, their body hanging limp from the clocktower. As blood drips onto the cobblestones below, a realisation slowly dawns… a demon has been unleashed, killing by night and taking on human form by day.
Can good find the demon in time? Or will evil overrun this once peaceful town?
What is the Game...
Blood on the Clocktower is a game of murder and mystery, lies and logic, deduction and deception for five-to-twenty courageous players and one devious storyteller.
A social game played in person, seated in a circle, each player receives either a ‘good’ or ‘evil’ token with their unique character on it. Good players share information to solve the mystery whilst evil players lie about who they are and what they know. The good team wins if they can piece together their knowledge, trust each other, and execute the demon. The evil team wins if the demon can sow distrust, evade detection, and wipe out the village.
While here you can order some great food and drink, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic from our fully licenced bar. We're looking forward to seeing you!!

Idioteque: The Bends 30th Anniversary Radiohead Tribute | Gordon Best Theatre
Jun 7, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Peterborough
IDIOTEQUE
returns to Peterborough to perform Radiohead’s
THE BENDS
in its entirety! Plus a whole lot more...
Radiohead’s classic 1995 album, THE BENDS turns 30 this year, and we need to celebrate! Besides (obviously) Creep, it was really The Bends that launched the band into wider public awareness, with huge hits like Just, Fake Plastic Trees, High And Dry, and Street Spirit. The band emerged as a more highly developed oddball art rock superpower, tapping into feelings of disillusionment, anti-consumerism, and frustration, while weaving them into inviting and powerful song arrangements, at once beautiful and hostile.
Now, as their fourth full-album tribute project,
IDIOTEQUE
will perform the entirety of The Bends, note-for-note, top-to-bottom. Plus a whole opening set of favourites from the rest of Radiohead’s vast catalogue, b-sides, and rarities. Don't miss this one!
---------------
IDIOTEQUE
Founded in 2010, Toronto’s best and busiest musicians dare to take on Radiohead’s most challenging material and all the classic hits, accurately recreating true-to-recorded versions, spanning ALL of Radiohead’s studio albums, plus some B-sides, rarities, and Radiohead side projects.
Selling out the majority of shows they play, Idioteque blows audiences away with their high-energy performances, attention to detail, and passion for the music.
Idioteque has presented several special projects, including entire album performances on their significant anniversaries, epic tributes to the 90’s “MTV Unplugged” series, featuring all-acoustic arrangements alongside string quartet, horns, and much more!!
Don Scott – lead vocals, guitar
Jessica Stuart – guitar, vocals
Charles Tilden – guitar, vocals
Teri Parker – keyboards
Liam Smith – bass
Ernesto Cervini – drums, vocals

Grasses I - A beginner's introduction with Brian Eversham | Old Sulehay Nature Reserve
Jun 8, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Peterborough
Grasses are among the most important flowering plants, ubiquitous in almost all habitats. Their structure, co-evolved with grazing animals, adapts them well to mowing as well as grazing, so they dominate pastureland and meadows. They can be daunting to start with, as they look so different from other wildflowers.
The day will explain the structure of grasses, including their beautiful if subtle flowers, and help you identify common grasses in the field using a hand lens. A short guide to recognising the most distinctive species, and keys to flowering and vegetative features will be used.

Trans Canada Trail Tree Planting | GreenUP Ecology Park
Jun 10, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Peterborough
GreenUP Ecology Park is home to a small section of the iconic
Trans Canada Trail
system, as is the canopy, which has suffered in recent years.
First, Emerald ash borer killed all local ash trees, then the historic derecho leveled many beautiful stately trees, roots and all. The recent ice storm then damaged or destroyed even more of the thinning canopy.
GreenUP has partnered with friends at the Trans Canada Trail to restore and enhance the urban forest throughout Ecology Park.
Register to join us June 10 and/or 11 to help plant 12 large specimen trees and two large specimen shrubs along the trail!
What to Bring:
Sturdy, closed-toe shoes
Long pants & sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
Rain coat
Work gloves (we’ll have extras)
Water bottle
Lunch and snacks
Physical Requirements & accessibility:
We aim to make these events flexible and inclusive. If you have accessibility needs or concerns, please get in touch with us in advance. There is an accessible washroom on site. However, only some areas of the Park are fully accessible to mobility device users.
Tasks will involve bending, kneeling, digging, and walking on uneven terrain. If you are unsure about your capacity, let us know; we’ll find a way for you to contribute meaningfully.
Questions?
We’ll reach out to confirm your attendance and provide additional information. You can also email us at ecologypark@greenup.on.ca with any questions or concerns.

Heavy Wednesday (11th June - Star Wars: Imperial Assault) | The Dice Box Cafe Peterborough
Jun 11, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Peterborough
Heavy Gaming Session
T his is our Heavy Wednesday Event, each week we set aside a couple of tables and one of our staff will take a group through a more difficult game from start to finish.
This week's game: Star Wars: Imperial Assault
Star Wars: Imperial Assault is a strategy board game of tactical combat and missions for two to five players, offering two distinct games of battle and adventure in the Star Wars universe!
Imperial Assault puts you in the midst of the Galactic Civil War between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire after the destruction of the Death Star over Yavin 4. In this game, you and your friends can participate in two separate games. The campaign game pits the limitless troops and resources of the Galactic Empire against a crack team of elite Rebel operatives as they strive to break the Empire’s hold on the galaxy, while the skirmish game invites you and a friend to muster strike teams and battle head-to-head over conflicting objectives.
In the campaign game, Imperial Assault invites you to play through a cinematic tale set in the Star Wars universe. One player commands the seemingly limitless armies of the Galactic Empire, threatening to extinguish the flame of the Rebellion forever. Up to four other players become heroes of the Rebel Alliance, engaging in covert operations to undermine the Empire’s schemes. Over the course of the campaign, both the Imperial player and the Rebel heroes gain new experience and skills, allowing characters to evolve as the story unfolds.
Imperial Assault offers a different game experience in the skirmish game. In skirmish missions, you and a friend compete in head-to-head, tactical combat. You’ll gather your own strike force of Imperials, Rebels, and Mercenaries and build a deck of command cards to gain an unexpected advantage in the heat of battle. Whether you recover lost holocrons or battle to defeat a raiding party, you’ll find danger and tactical choices in every skirmish.
