Tour a Clipper Race 70-foot ocean racing yacht - Clipper Ventures Training Office Come and take a look around the Clipper 70s; stripped down ocean racing yachts departing this summer for another 40,000nm race around the world. Get access above and below deck. Take the helm and imagine yourself at a 40 degree angle mid-ocean thousands of miles from land. Above deck try your hand on one of the eleven winches capable of lifting the sails up the 29m mast. Go below to check out the nav station, galley, bunks, stowage where each of the 20 Race Crew live when not on deck. Meet one of the Crew Recruitment Team who have all taken part in the race themselves. Ask questions about their time on board or about the recruitment process and anything inbetween. How to find us: Please use PO12 1AH - The entrance to Gosport Marina is on the left signposted Premier Marina. Or take the train to Portsmouth Harbour where you can get the Gosport Ferry across. The service runs every 15 minutes between Portsmouth & Gosport. (£5.10 return). As you get off the ferry you will need to turn right and then follow the Millennium Walk, which leads to the marina’s front gates signed Premier Marina. "Then to the may pole haste away, for 'tis now our holiday!" Join the villagers as they welcome in spring at our annual May Day celebrations. Have a go at maypole dancing; chat to the villagers; watch the morris dancers; listen to the storyteller; get involved with traditional 17th century crafts; step inside the pages of history books, to open the doors of real homes and immerse yourself in the life of a small 17th century village - on its holiday! The morning will be spent preparing for the celebrations. The villagers' procession through Little Woodham will start at 12.00, which will then be followed by the maypole dancing, morris dancing and story telling. Opening times 10.30 - 16.30. Tickets are the price of normal entry, but you must pre-book for this event. A non-refundable booking fee is included in the ticket price. If you request a refund, this portion of the ticket price will not be returned to you. Free, but limited parking available, please walk or take public transport if you are able. JLDC presents Summer Showcase Saturday 17th MayOur Summer Showcase is a great opportunity for the athletes to show off their routines to their friends and families and hopefully the spectators will see a vast improvement from our Polar Preview event that we hosted in December. Tickets Athletes have already paid for their entry as apart of competition entry 3. Due to building capacity limitations, we have had to split our Showcase into three sessions. Tickets for spectators will come on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to bring a child of any age, they will still need a ticket because they are a body in the building. Prams Due to limited capacity and space, we are asking for no prams to be brought to the premises. We do not have the space to facilitate these as we have allowed for wheelchair access and seating for all. We apologise about any inconvenience here. Can I film my child performing? No, we can’t stress the importance that filming your child’s performance is not allowed. Not only due to safeguarding reasons but because all routines are property of JLDC and their coaches. Merchandise We are releasing the Crop & Shorts on the day, we cant wait for our athletes to see them!
