Arts Craft
Craft Space (or other) is a community driven space for crafting, learning something new and chatting to likeminded people. There aren’t enough opportunities for adults to switch off and be creative so over the 5 week course, artist and designer Jasmine will be running various arts workshops using a different material each week. From willow weaving to clay sculpting and botanical impressions, each week will be something new so no need to have attended the previous session. Having received wonderful feedback from a small but mighty group last year, the craft club is back with some new ideas and materials. If you're looking for some time out of the day to day and want a relaxed atmosphere in which to create, discuss and experiment, come along and give it a go. At the end of each session everyone will take something small home that they've made. All materials and equipment is provided you just need to bring yourself!  Information Source: Barbican Theatre | eventbrite

Join us at the Blake Planetarium for our feature presentation  One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure , a fulldome planetarium show that follows Sesame Street's Big Bird and Elmo as they explore the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a Muppet from Zhima Jie, the Chinese co-production of Sesame Street.  As an added bonus, Cocomong: A Space Adventure will also be shown. About One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure (runtime 27 minutes) "One World, One Sky is a brilliant spectacle of light and color as the furry friends [Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu] watch the stars twinkle over Sesame Street. Children attending the show can interact as they watch, drawing constellations and counting the time it takes the sun to set. The show aims to nurture a child's natural sense of wonder about the night sky while forging cross-cultural connections, and bridging kids across nations through a common bond in learning about the sky together." About Cocomong: A Space Adventure (runtime 19 minutes) "Described only in books, Cocomong dreams of what it would be like to really travel through space. And then all too quickly Halley appears out of nowhere! Halley needs the help of Cocomong and his friends to save his parents and get the star balls back. Will our rescuers be able to travel all the way safely? How Speed Dating Works in Plymouth When you arrive at the Plymouth venue you will be greeted by our friendly professional hosts. Once everyone has arrived and registered we will briefly explain the format of the evening. The ladies will then be asked to make their way to their allocated table. Once the ladies are seated the gentlemen will be asked to proceed to their first date. You will have 4 minutes to chat to each date, once the 4 minutes is over we will ring a bell to indicate the time is up and for the gentlemen to move to their next date. Four minutes is long enough to see if you click with the person you are talking to and whether you would like to see them again and also short enough if you don't. At the end of each date you have a brief few moments to make some notes on the person you have just dated. This is something to help jog your memory for the post event matching process the next day. Half way through the event you will have an interval break so you can nip to the toilet or top up your drink. Once all the dates are over you have the opportunity to stay on at the venue to mingle freely with others. Please remember to take your dating card home with you to assist you in entering in your ticks and potential matches. Post Event No later than 11am the following morning our matching system will be unlocked for you to enter your ticks from the previous evening. You have all day to tick as many people as you like from the night before. We guarantee you will find someone you will want to see again, otherwise we will give you your next Speed Dating event for free!
