Weekly group for Parents/carers and toddlers aged 18 months - 5 years old. Younger siblings welcome, adults and babes in arms are free. This is a warm, friendly and nurturing group inspired by the Forest School ethos of child lead exploration and learning. It is a special time to be in the woods with your child making new friends whist connecting to nature and having lots of fun. Following a similar format each week with the ritual of joining at the circle to light the fire together, to having a story and songs around it at the end with a tasty snack we've cooked, brings a grounded sense of familiarity and calm were the children learn to be safe and the ancient practice of being together in the woods. From here they are free to go off to explore the activities and the woods! What we get up to.... We make natural seasonal crafts and cook healthy snacks over the fire, play in the mud kitchen, go on adventures, forage, bug hunt, have a story around the fire, We go on Nature walks, sing songs, learn about wildlife, the seasons, the weather and how to care for nature and each other. make music have lots of free play and use our imaginations! Britain's most exciting wildlife comes out at night. As we sleep bats, owls, hedgehogs and badgers emerge to hunt in woodland glades and a multitude of moths take to the wing. For tonight's special event at The Secret Campsite we will head out in search of some of these incredible animals. We'll sit quietly in the woods listening for owls, Nightingales and walk through amongst the hornbeams searching for Glow-worms, Hedgehogs, Foxes and Badgers. We will be using bat detectors to locate pipistrelles and Serotines. We'll also set up a moth trap to lure in some incredible moths and hopefully we'll find the stunning Ghost Moth as it dances in the moonlight. And if any actual supernatural ghoulies manifest themselves we'll try and get a selfie. The evening will start with tea, coffee and cake around the fire as Sussex naturalist Michael Blencowe introduces the evening with some stories of ghosts and other nocturnal wildlife. Then we'll head out for a slow, quiet walk around a local private woodland and aim to return just before midnight. If you'd like to turn this event into a real wild night out you can choose to stay over at the campsite. More details of the campsite can be found on their website www.thesecretcampsite.co.uk. You may also be interested in the following day's Moth Morning event. Details: The Secret Campsite is located 10 minutes from Lewes. Full details will be sent out to attendees nearer to the event. Come and be part of our wolf pack - we can find ourselves holding a lot in life and it can be easy to forget to fill our own cups. The Wolf Pack is a nurturing women's singing circle that offers a moment in your month where the pace can slow down and you can be the one being held. Numbers for my circles are kept small to allow for a fully immersive, connected, nurturing and therapeutic experience. While this isn't a therapy group, as a psychotherapist I hold all my circles in a way that is informed by my training, knowledge and many years of experience and there is always a therapeutic element that you can lean into should you wish. It is a space where you are welcome to arrive as you are, connect in with yourself and then check in to the circle with a few words, if you feel like it. Each circle will be a bit different, but will always be set around a theme (for example rest, belonging, nurture, celebration etc) and will involve some gentle movement, lots of singing and some time in ritual or silence with blankets and relaxing oil for your hands. The Wolf Pack circle invites you to be really present with yourself and the harmonies we will create together. The songs we sing will be a cappella heart songs sung in 2,3 or 4 part harmony. I will teach everything by ear - all abilities are welcome. This circle is held in some beautiful ancient woodland and we will be around a fire for some of the evening. There is shelter if we need it and I will bring hot water, teas and blankets. This circle is for women only. Information Source: Singing Roots | eventbrite
