DESTROYED CINEMA AND MUSIC returns with the world-premiere of Victoria’s own “Search for Gold” directed by John Ledingham. After cutting his feature-length teeth with the concert film documentary The Promised End in a collaboration with JP Meldrum and Maxwell Patterson, Ledingham’s first solo-feature Search for Gold revels in Victoria’s twenty-something weirdos bumming around, drinking beers, reading Sisek, jamming, working dead-end jobs, and finding purpose in the Coffee News . Inspired equal parts by tree planting, Linklater’s Slacker , Motern Media, and the local music scene, Search for Gold film may very well iron out a template for a Victoria DIY film scene to-be.
