Sports & Fitness
The upcoming event, "MAGIC Training - Batley Library," is a highly practical workshop designed to train leaders in delivering chair-based games for individuals with long-term health conditions. The training, facilitated by the Everybody Active Team from Kirklees Council, aims to equip volunteers with the necessary skills to organize engaging and inclusive activities in their community. Participants will learn how to effectively utilize a range of equipment to create stimulating experiences for individuals with health conditions and memory challenges. Additionally, the workshop will cover important aspects of setting up new sessions, such as conducting risk assessments, ensuring safety, and obtaining insurance coverage. It is important to note that this training is exclusively for residents of Kirklees, as it focuses on delivering MAGIC within the area. Taking place at Batley Library, located at 14 Market Place, Batley, WF17 5DA, this event will take place on April 2, 2024. Admission to this valuable training opportunity is free of charge. Please be aware that the venue does not have an evac chair, so attendees must be able to evacuate via a staircase in the event of a fire.
