Explore the interactive displays, listen to recordings and view the different objects on display to gain an insight into the work, life, and cultural context of one of the twentieth century’s most significant writers. The exhibition is family friendly, free, and open Tuesday to Sunday. The exhibition comprises a main room, a temporary exhibition area which houses changing displays, and a learning space which is open to the public when not in use for workshops. There’s lots to explore on the interactive Timeline, such as the Children’s Trail which features some of the animals that appear in Dylan’s writing. Follow the People Trail around the Timeline, too, and discover some of the key people in Dylan’s life, and the rich cultural context in which he lived and worked. One section in the centre of the exhibition is dedicated to Dylan the writer, and another to Dylan the performer. There are fun interactives, and touchscreens which tell the story of Dylan’s Notebooks, explore his famous poem ‘Do not go gentle into that good night’ and look at the circumstances surrounding his death. Listen to Dylan himself, and those who knew him, via the built-in speakers in the chairs.

Broken Fires (stage @ 930pm) Broken Fires are a Welsh collective writing massive alternative rock songs about love, life and death. They aim to combine the big rock energy of Manchester Orchestra, emotional honesty of Frightened Rabbit and the ambitious, progressive playfulness of Divorce. First album “Silhouettes” (2015) picked up BBC Radio 1 airplay, extensive play on BBC Radio Wales and syncs on MTV and BBC television. After pursuing side projects, the band returned in 2022 with a second LP “Hymns”. Produced by Matt Lederman, the man behind the desk for Rural Alberta Advantage’s critically acclaimed Mended with Gold, singles “Dreamer” and “New Friends” picked up national radio play from Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens. The songs generated some international interest and the band played showcases in NXNE, Toronto and Paris for Sofar Sounds. Back with new, even more ambitious material, Broken Fires are looking forward to sharing another full length album with the world later in 2025. “Lighthouse”, the first single from their forthcoming third studio album was released in April, immediately picking up BBC Introducing radio play in their native Wales from Adam Walton and Bethan Elfyn. Shwing.” - Killing Moon “I am in love with this band and their hugely ambitious sound” - Bethan Elfyn, BBC Introducing Wales Nova Scotia (Stage @ 845pm) Nova Scotia is a Cardiff-based alternative band blending shoegaze and grunge influences. Formed in 2022 by Ophelia (vocals), Conor (guitar), Libby (drums), Jack (guitar), and Glen (bass), the group draws inspiration from artists like Slowdive, Deftones, and Paramore. Their debut single Wire Mother earned airplay on BBC Radio, with Adam Walton praising its mix of Slowdive’s ethereal tones and Deftones’ heaviness, calling it “brilliant.” Following up with Pretty Lies, Nova Scotia showcased a dynamic fusion of ambient soundscapes, driving drums, and infectious melodies. Their latest release, “Teething”, embraces a heavier, My Bloody Valentine-inspired wall of sound, combining fuzzy guitars with shimmering clean tones. Known for electrifying live shows, including a packed-out headline at The Moon in Cardiff, Nova Scotia continues to build momentum, actively performing across the UK and aiming for wider European audiences. SHIMMER (Stage @ 8pm) SHIMMER is a boy band. But man, unlike some boy bands we could mention they write some absolutely killer alternative pop. Two-Day Event on Parental Separation A two-day event is being hosted by Dads and Nap at Saint David's Church, Morriston, Swansea, to educate people about the effects of separation and family courts on targeted parents and children. The event will feature guest speakers and discussions on the topic, including the plight of voiceless, forgotten, and targeted children, as well as the failings of family courts that often align with one parent due to allegations. Stumbles Through Mumbles ! With over two thousand years of history, there is much more to Mumbles than Joe’s Ice Cream and the Lighthouse (though they are pretty cool too!). Let me show you some of the nooks and crannies and tell you some of the ghastly (and ghostly!) stories that make up this lovely little village of ours. From the stained glass of All Saint’s Church to the ‘little’ castle of William of London, from the composer Morfydd Owen to the man who re-wrote Shakespeare, Mumbles has plenty to offer and is a tiny jewel in the coastline of Swansea Bay. I will help you discover it. Starting at the top of Castle Avenue, it involves a leisurely stroll along the front and through the back roads finishing at the slipway. It takes between ninety minutes and two hours and numbers are strictly limited. Moderate mobility is required for these walks. “Fantastic.
