Tasting: Slovakian Volcanic Wines | Cellar Magnifique Wine Bar, Cafe, and Events

Join us on the first Wednesday of the month for our wine discovery series.
This month, we are tasting the hottest selection of wines as they came from the Volcanic regions of Slovakia. We will explore the wines, methods, as well as how the volcanic soil affects the grape varieties as flavour profiles. The duplicity of the volcano breathes life into the wines of the area creating a dynamic catalogue, from a spicy and exciting sparkling wine to a delicate and elegant red; We will be tasting the range to discover the complexity of the Slovakian volcanic wines
Miska, Operations Manager in Cellar Magnifique, is delighted to act as your tour guide for this tasting of wines from her home country. She will lead you through the volcanic wine regions in Slovakia, and guide you through the tasting of the five wines she carefully selected, and enjoy it with some delicious food pairing as well

Bedser Yr 7,8 and 9 Boys Assessment | Woking 'n Horsell Cricket Club

Surrey Cricket, in partnership with local business, is once again running a schools cricket programme in
Woking
in honour of Alec and Eric Bedser.
Aim:
This programme aims to identify, through the process, 6 children who have the potential to become performance cricketers. 6 scholarships will be awarded annually to children who are educated in Woking and are not currently in the SCCC player pathway. 48 scholarships have been awarded since 2013.
Criteria:
This programme is open to all children aged between 8-15 years old and who attend a state school in Woking. The children progressing to the assessments must not currently be involved in the SCCC player pathway programme.
There will be limited kit available so please bring any that you have along with you (hard ball clothing). Training and sports kit should be worn.
Places are limited and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Armed Forces Day Dinner
Come join us for a night of celebration and gratitude at the
Dianthus Building
! Our Armed Forces Day Dinner is a special event honoring the brave men and women who serve our country. Enjoy a welcome drinks upon arrival, a three-course delicious meal, entertainment, a raffle and great company as we pay tribute to our military heroes.
Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June, falling this year on 28 June.
It is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to Service families, veterans and cadets.
It also marks the culmination of a week of celebrations, beginning on Monday 23 June, when the public show their support and appreciation for the Armed Forces community. It also includes Reserves Day (25 June), which provides the country with an opportunity to recognise our Reserve Forces.
