Please come dressed appropriately for the weather, as the class will take place outdoors. We recommend bringing your own yoga mat, as we do not provide them, but we will have large towels available for all attendees. Additionally, we offer complimentary bottled water, sunscreen, bug spray, and other essentials. During the event, our goats may show an interest in you, with their playful nature leading them to nudge, scratch, nibble, jump, and even step on attendees. Experience the joy of pottery at the Come Clay with me! Pottery Experience workshop in McKinney. This one-time class is perfect for adults looking to have fun and explore their artistic side. Teens aged 13-17 are also welcome if accompanied by an adult. Held at The Pottery Barn at McKinney Art House, the workshop takes place on December 2, 2023, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn the art of pottery through both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. Each person will create two clay vessels, one on the wheel and another using various handbuilding techniques. All necessary tools and equipment will be provided, along with clay and aprons. However, it is recommended to wear comfortable clothes as working with clay can get messy. After the workshop, your pieces will be finished and fired in the kilns at McKinney Art House. The drying, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing process takes approximately 4-6 weeks. Once your pieces are ready for pickup, you will be notified by email. Please note that firing pottery can be unpredictable, and while every effort is made to ensure the best results, occasionally challenges may arise that are beyond our control. In such cases, we will do our best to rectify the situation. Please be aware that once you register for the workshop, the slot is non-cancellable and non-changeable. If there is a waitlist and someone else can take your spot, we can accommodate a date change or provide a refund with a 3% credit card processing fee.
