Family Events
Join us for our monthly meet-up and meet other families of multiples! We'll have snacks and tea/coffee available so you can have a warm drink while the little ones play. We'll set up a baby area, a selection of toddler toys and activities, and we always aim to get everyone together for a little sing-along towards the end. This is a drop-in session (we know what twin nap schedules can be like!), so feel free to come along for the whole two hours or just drop in for a coffee and a chat. We'll be set up in the dance studio - this is accessed through a door just to the right of the entrance to the old Link cafe and soft play area, and there is plenty of space in the room to park double buggies! Outside the Link is a public play park, muga, and a community garden. The venue has facilities for baby changing. Getting Here The Link has its own car park, and the surrounding residential streets also have plenty of available spaces and visitor parking spots. Lothian 37 and EC 140 busses both stop within a few minutes walk. Please only use the door to the right of the main entrance - we will put a printed logo on the correct door. Using other doors may cause issues with the venue’s security system. If the doors are locked, please knock, and we will be right with you! Notes Please email chair@edinburghtwins.org with any questions If you cannot make the session or have any issues, please contact Żaneta on 07388116038 The group is for members of Edinburgh & Lothians Twins & Multiples Club. If you’re expecting or are a parent of twins or more in Edinburgh and the surrounding area and would like to join the club, you can do so for free at the following link: https://membermojo.co.uk/edinburghtwins Thanks to the funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for supporting this project and allowing us to offer entry to you all for free ❤️. Donations to the club are always welcome to help fund snacks, activities, and seasonal events for the club. Information Source: Edinburgh & Lothians Twins & Multiples Club Events | eventbrite

Forest Bathing Session - Vogrie Country Park What is Forest Bathing? Forest bathing is a nature connection practise that originates in Japan, it is a direct translation of 'Shinrin-Yoku'. This nature connection practice is quiet, gentle and mindful. You are invited to slow down to the pace of nature, to appreciate the many small moments of beauty and wonder that often pass us by. In our busy worlds, forest bathing is permission to enjoy the present moment and connect deeply to our natural world. What is involved in a Forest Bathing walk? As your forest bathing guide I will bring you as part of a small group on a journey to awaken your senses and deepen your connection to the woodland. The walk will be slow and gentle, covering approximately 2 miles at most. We will begin with a short introduction and then a guided meditation which draws attention to your senses. The walk will continue with the opportunity to learn creative ways to connect with nature and to share with others in the group. After this carefully crafted sequence of suggested activities, the walk will finish with a short tea ceremony. About your guide Rosie McLoughlin - After finding forest bathing through colleague Caitlin Keddie, I completed training as a Forest Bathing Guide with the Forest Therapy Hub (European Institute) in November 2021 and attended further training in May 2022. In addition to this Forest Bathing Guide training, I also work as an Applied Psychologist and have over ten years experience working in mental health settings. I find the practice has very beneficial effects on mental wellbeing and is a great opportunity to practise self-care. If you have any questions, please contact Rosie on: wildroseforesttherapy@gmail.com Travel & Transport The park is accessible by car, bike and on foot with parking available. There is a limited bus service running from Edinburgh, with the 51 bus departing from the centre and requiring a further 30 minute walk to the park. The weather The walk will go ahead in most weather conditions, including some patches of rain. A variety of weather conditions can offer great new ways to connect with nature. If there is a weather warning listed on the day of the walk, the walk will be cancelled and you will be sent a refund. Additional Information Unfortunately, this trail is not wheelchair accessible. This forest bathing walk is for adults (16+), and babes in arms are welcome, but, the trail is not suitable for buggys. Due to the slow meditative aspects of the walk, we ask you to keep dogs and other pets at home. 10% of ticket sales will go to a re-wilding charity (such as Trees for Life) Information Source: Wild Rose Forest Therapy | eventbrite
