Searching "beyond the stethoscope", within the health sciences, the 2025 Project Pulse Winnipeg (PPW) conference will consist of lectures, panel sessions, discussions, presentations, and interactions with healthcare professionals, post-secondary admission representatives, and exceptional undergraduate and graduate students. We hope that through this exposure, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of a career in healthcare and leave with the motivation to achieve their goals. In addition, there will be a variety of workshops for attendees to participate in and booths to interact with. With this engaging and inspirational conference, Project Pulse Winnipeg hopes to make crucial information on the healthcare system accessible to high school students considering a career in the health sciences.

Scalpel, please! In this workshop, students will dive deep into the circulatory system by exploring the anatomy and functions of the heart! With gloves on and curiosity in hand, participants will examine the chambers, valves, and vessels of a real pig heart through a guided dissection.
This workshop is in partnership with WISE Kid-Netic Energy from the University of Manitoba!
Mission Infection Workshop (PPW Team):
This workshop introduces students to epidemiology—the science behind tracking and controlling diseases. Through hands-on activities like analyzing mock data and tracing a simulated outbreak, students will explore how epidemiologists protect public health and solve complex health challenges. WISE Kid-Netic Energy):
Get ready to see science in a whole new light! In this eye-opening workshop, students will explore the fascinating world of vision and optics by dissecting a real animal’s eye. They will also learn about optical sensors while programming an Ozobot to navigate a course.

You're invited to Kids in Kilts' 14th Annual Year End Celebration Recital! Our show features all KIK dancers in traditional highland dances and class choreography. Other numbers will include solos, duets, big ensemble numbers and more! This is an afternoon that family and friends won't want to miss.
The show begins at 2:00pm at Prairie Theatre Exchange, located on the the third floor of Portage Place. Parking is available in the underground parkade, or on the street nearby. Tickets are $22 and are best purchased in advance on Eventbrite; limited quantities will be available at the door.
Flowers for your dancer will be available to purchase, as well as a 50/50 draw, cash only.
Professional recordings will also be available for purchase both in advance and at the event.
Tickets will go on sale Sunday, May 4th at 10:00am.
Please note that the seating map depicts a gap between rows H & J. This is not the case; they are spaced the same as other rows in the section. Please reference the printed seating chart below.
Please note that this year we will not be selling the front row side seats (Row A seats 1-7 & 15-19) to give the dancers more stage room. The front row of the centre section is reserved for wheelchair users and those with significant mobility challenges. Please review the photo below, as you will not be able to see which tier you are purchasing from until after checkout. If you need a wheelchair spot please contact us.

free in-person robotics workshop at Winnipeg, MB
on Sunday, 25th May, 11:00 AM CST.
Following the tremendous success of our prior event and the overwhelming response from parents, Moonpreneur is delighted to announce that we are once again hosting this workshop. Our aim is to introduce children aged 7-14 to the world of robotics in a hands-on, engaging manner, ensuring a fun filled educational experience.

The meetup starts with a warm welcome and check-in process, followed by the assignment of a workshop room.

(100 min) is a moving portrait of two exiled Filipino revolutionaries, the late Jose Maria (“Joma”) Sison and his wife Julie De Lima; both key leaders in the ongoing Philippine revolution. The film explores the life and love of the unassuming pair as they serve the National Democratic movement from exile — in the tranquil Dutch city of Utrecht, 10,000 km away from their homeland. Surviving “terrorist” designations, dictatorships, solitary confinement, torture, and repeated assassination attempts by the Filipino government, Joma and Julie have persevered — just like the vibrant revolution they helped build.

places these revolutionaries’ personal journeys alongside a deep exploration of the struggle on the ground. It provides a first-hand account of a resistance movement supported by millions of Filipinos, striving to free the country from the rule of wealthy landlords, US imperialism, and a fascist government. Green Action Centre: Compositing 101 | Robert A Steen Community Club

In this composting presentation, we will go over the basics of composting, including: how food waste contributes to climate change and why composting reduces our impact, types of composting (including backyard and worm composting), how the decomposition process works, and how to start and maintain your own compost bin.
About the presenter:
Alexa Harwood-Jones is a graphic designer and sustainability advocate. She earned a Diploma in Graphic Design and worked at the University of Manitoba for 4 years before transitioning to her current role as the Compost & Waste Reduction Coordinator at Green Action Centre. After her hometown was devastated by wildfires in 2021, Alexa started to pursue climate action in work and life. She created a Green Team at her office to help staff reduce waste, and, eventually, changed careers to full-time sustainability work. Since starting at Green Action Centre in September 2024, she has been busy visiting schools, workplaces, and community centres to educate the public on composting and waste reduction.
This is a free event. Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Here at Paint Party Manitoba, we love painting and want to show
YOU
how easy and fun it can be!
We'll guide you step by step through the painting. ALL the equipment is provided: paints, brushes, palette, canvas, easel, apron - so you can get straight to the fun of painting.
We only use good quality paints and brushes so you can enjoy painting like a real artist! And absolutely no disposable palettes! We have a no garbage policy: all our equipment is reuseable.
Our example paintings are always done by our host, Greg, so he'll show you exactly how it was painted. No previous painting experience is necessary. We always plan our paintings to be easily finished in less than two hours, so you won't have to rush to finish.
And at the end of the night, you'll have a finished painting to take home!
Feel free to arrive early, or stay late, and indulge in some excellent food and beverages from our host venue!
