Get crafty and learn how to Crochet a Chicken with Amanda, of Creative Retreat. Students in this class will create (2) different size chickens, that they will take home along with the crochet hook and pattern they used to create the chickens. Ages 14+ *Please Note-Crocheting experience required! Recommended Prerequisite - Beginner Crochet a Scarf Although this pattern is fairly easy, all students attending the class should have some small basic knowledge of crocheting prior to taking the class. She has a BSN in Apparel & Textiles from Oneonta State University, as well as an associate's degree in Fashion Merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology. On top of her creative studies, she received a BSN in Nursing at Adelphi University and currently works as a registered nurse. Amanda is still very passionate about art, and she also teaches the Mandala Art Dot Classes at the Nest. STAINED GLASS MOSAIC SERVING TRAY WORKSHOP with Amanda of Creative Retreat - AGE 14+ PLEASE NOTE: Ages 14+ ONLY. By purchasing tickets, you acknowledge that each attendee is at least 14 years of age. All attendees will make a stained glass mosaic stepping stone measuring 9 inches in diameter. Attendees will learn about stained glass, how to cut and score stained glass, and the intricate steps of creating a beautiful mosaic garden stepping stone. All materials included. Attendees will be provided tools for the day of the project as well as eye protection, but belong to the instructor. Attendees will take home their finished project the same day as the workshop. Stained glass colors may vary due to supply and demand. Students are encouraged to bring a pair of gloves or they can purchase a pair of gloves from the instructor. Welcome to the wonderful world of Mandala Art Dot Painting! Ages 10+ During this workshop you'll le how to dot paint on (2) hand-casted stones, a trinket box and a tea-light holder. PLEASE NOTE: Attendees should be ages 10 and up . This class is also limited to 14 attendees. By purchasing tickets, you acknowledge that each attendee is at least 10 years of age . All students will learn the beautiful art of dot painting and will take away the skills and techniques learned to dot paint on their own. Mandala Art is comprised of geometric designs and patterns that hold a great deal of symbolism in many ancient cultures. It's believed that Mandalas represent different aspects of the universe and are used as instruments of meditation and symbols of prayer. All Materials will be provided: Each attendee will receive: receive a mandala art kit in a carrying case with 17 dotting tools, 1 paint palette, 1 paint brush and 1 stencil to take home with you. Acrylic paint will be provided for all attendees. While working at a hospital during the pandemic, Amanda found herself needing to find something soothing.
