Presenter: LaTisha Cole This course is designed to take school leaders on a deep dive into their current MTSS culture and practices. Leaders will learn how to analyze specific data that will help them determine the current health of their MTSS culture. This workshop will strengthen educational leaders' ability to identify gaps within MTSS structures and workflows that impact MTSS culture. Once the current MTSS culture health status is determined, leaders will learn how to plan for and implement processes and protocols that will maintain a consistently healthy and thriving MTSS culture. This course encourages leaders to establish and memorialize healthy traditions that will enhance their MTSS culture; empowers and equips them to make data-driven decisions that create and or enhance the MTSS culture on their campus(es); and meet the needs of the entire school community by having a strong MTSS Culture. Refunds will be issued only to participants who contact SCISC five (5) business days before the start date of the program, or if the program is canceled. Presenter: Dr. Lisa Harrod This workshop will draw on leadership lessons from the popular show Ted Lasso. While many of the lessons come from quotes and experiences, it does not focus on the need to have viewed the program. The facilitator will use these lessons to show how visibility, vulnerability, and belief in the power of an organization can yield high results in achievement, climate, and culture. Since the pandemic, district administrative roundtable discussions have focused on the need to care for our educators and support staff in the areas of health and wellness, while creating stronger teams at their best for the students we serve. Engaging in difficult conversations meant to create a growth mindset and invite change will also be discussed. This academy takes that feedback into account while embedding true leadership lessons that can be shared with staff and strategies for implementation immediately. This academy will focus on strategies for staff members, administration, and the students we serve. Let's have some fun along the way! This will be unlike any academy you have ever attended. You will leave feeling motivated and remembering why we work so hard to do what we do! Information Source: South Cook Intermediate Service Center | eventbrite

Presenter: John Hackett Today's world is marked with unprecedented uncertainty, challenges, and disruption. In the 1990s, The U.S. Army War College developed the term V.U.C.A. to describe these situations as challenges to modern military operations. V.U.C.A. describes situations marked with Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. The acronym may have been developed for military situations but is undoubtedly applicable to world situations challenging leaders today. All Leaders of any organization live and lead in a V.U.C.A. world today. The actual content of leadership is constant and crucial; however, the context of leading in a V.U.C.A. world requires that school leaders enhance or develop different leadership skills to best serve those they lead. The purpose of this Administrator's Academy is to introduce school leaders to a new leadership skill to navigate a V.U.C.A. world. This Academy will provide the participants with useful, practical information and skills to enhance their leadership as a coach. This Academy will focus on how practical communication, coaching skills, and reflection can be a guide to navigating a V.U.C.A. world. Participants will complete pre-session work, including reviewing relevant articles on leading in a V.U.C.A. world and coaching as a leadership skill, an introductory online survey, and the Six Types of Working Genius Assessment from the Table Group (Thetablegroup.com). The Assessment Report from the Six Types of Working Genius and reflections on articles will be brought to class for discussion, collaboration, and skills practice. This Academy will address a V.U.C.A. environment and how it affects leadership. An activity-based introduction to communication and coaching skills and reflection will be used to demonstrate how to transform a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous(V.U.C.A.) environment into a V.U.C.A. Prime environment marked by Vision, Understanding, Clarity, and Adaptability. Refunds will be issued only to participants who contact SCISC five (5) business days before the start date of the program, or if the program is canceled. THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD AT SOUTH COOK. Presenter: Dr. Kathleen Doyle DO YOU WANT TO FOCUS ON SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN DOMAINS 2 AND 3? THEN THIS IS THE RETRAINING COURSE FOR YOU! This course focuses on Domains 1 and 4 of the Danielson 2013 Framework and is intended for those administrators who have successfully completed the Initial Teacher Evaluation required by ISBE. Administrators who evaluate teachers must demonstrate a high rate of inter-rater reliability and communicate evaluation outcomes in constructive and supportive ways. They must also recognize and control for bias when conducting evaluations and determining results. Participants will record data from a pre-conference, align data to the Danielson Framework (Domain 1), collaboratively determine ratings, observe post-conferences, evaluate teacher evidence, and align to the Danielson Framework (Domain 4). Emphasis is placed on meaningful pre- and post-conferences with teachers that ultimately result in improved instruction and practices. Participants will also be expected to demonstrate a high degree of inter-rater reliability when they determine a final rating based on the evidence gathered for Domains 1 and 4.
