The DeVo Evo Course is for young riders of an intermediate to advanced ability that aren't old enough or experianced enough to ride at Level2 of the DeVo Programme but are looking to progress their skills to ride more challenging terrain at Rushmere Country Park. This Courses is for Mountain Bikers aged from 8 years to 12 years old who have attended 4 or more Level1 DeVo Courses or have been advised by Ian to book on this course and are looking to progress their skills. This Mountain Bike Skills Courses are a great opportunity to meet likeminded young riders, progress your riding, build your confidence, and get out and experience the trails at Rushmere Country Park. Course Overview "Programs are meant to be read by humans and only incidentally for computers to execute." - Abelson & Sussman Whether you are interested in advancing your career, learning how to build cool things or just want to learn something new, this course will prepare you to take the first step into the world of computer programming. You should leave the final lesson able to write simple programs and have the necessary tools to navigate your path into the field. We will cover the fundamental ideas required to understand how computers interpret code and how to write software. The approach will be hands on and task driven. The price covers 10 hours of learning, split over 2 hour evening sessions, once a week for 5 weeks. Lessons will be held in a teaching venue in the Holborn area. I understand different people learn at different rate so I am happy to adjust the pace or dive deeper into topics as we progress. Lesson Structure Lesson 1: Coding Environment and Basic Syntax How to set up your machine to write and run code. Basic components of the Python language. Strings, Integers, Booleans. Lesson 2: Data Structures and Computer Architecture How is information stored in a computer? How can we lay out our information and processing structures to leverage this? East Texas Wine Project Deductive Tastings @ Enoch's Stomp Vineyard & Winery Join us for an exciting in-person event at Enoch's Stomp Vineyard & Winery ! Get ready to indulge in a unique wine tasting experience like no other. This event will take you on a journey of flavors and aromas, where you'll learn to identify different wine characteristics and enhance your tasting skills. Jon will teach an in depth wine deduction class. Jon will buy all wines for the class. We will deduce 4-8 wines. Start at 6pm and finish by 8:30pm. This class is a little different than the usual "free" version. The collective proceeds from the class will give Jon the ability to purchase exceptional wines to teach on a particular theme or to splurge on a high end wine most of us would not choose to purchase on our own. Participants will be blind tasting the wines and will be expected to use the deductive process to aid in identifying the wine. Basic wine deductive skills preferred but not necessary. The Slo-Pitch Tournament at Back to Batoche Days brings together players from all over for a weekend of spirited competition and community pride. Whether you're stepping up to the plate or cheering from the sidelines, it’s all about good sportsmanship, reconnecting with friends, and celebrating Métis culture. This inclusive event welcomes 12 teams of all skill levels for a fun and competitive experience. Prize payouts each game! Total payout $10,000. First game begins at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 18th and subsequent games start every hour once the previous game has concluded. Each team must have mixed teams of 10 made up of no more than 7 players of one gender. ie: 7 men and 3 women or 6 women and 4 men. This is a double elimination tournament. Prize money will be awarded to the winners of each game. RULES AND REGULATIONS We will be following the SPN rulebook, including bat regulations, with the following exceptions: 1. Entry Fee: The entry fee is $400 and must be paid by the registration deadline of July 1 . 2. Team Composition : Each team must have mixed teams of 10 made up of no more than 7 players of one gender. ie: 7 men and 3 women or 6 women and 4 men. 3. Runs Per Inning : Each inning is limited to 6 runs, except for the 5th inning or the last inning if called early, which is open. 4. Game Duration : Games are 5 innings long with a 1-hour time limit. 5. Batter Count : Each batter starts with a count of 1 strike and 1 ball. 6. Mercy Rule : If a team is ahead by 12 runs after 4 innings, the game will end. 7. Home Run Limit : Each team is allowed 3 home runs per game. Any additional home runs will result in an out. 8. Ball Retrieval : Teams must retrieve and return any home run or foul ball immediately. Failure to do so will result in the first batter of the next inning being called out. 9. Courtesy Runners : Each team is allowed 3 courtesy runners per game. You must substitute female runner for female and male runner for male. 10. Score Sheet Submission : The winning team is responsible for submitting the score sheet to the tournament chair at the draw board. 11. No Grace Period : There is absolutely no grace period for starting games. 12. Player Participation : Submit team roster after first game. All players must be listed on the first score sheet and must play at least 1 inning on Friday/Saturday to be eligible to play in the finals. 13. Equipment Rules: No illegal bats, umpires will be checking prior to games. No metal cleats are to be used. 14. Protest Rules: There will be a protest committee, if you choose to protest there will be a $150 protest fee. ZERO TOLERANCE: Our community is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or any other status. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Absolutely no alcohol or drugs allowed, if teams do not comply, they will be ejected and must forfeit the tournament. EJECTION CONSEQUENCES : Any player ejected from a game will be disqualified for the remainder of the tournament.
