The demonstrations are novel, but will hark back to the Age of Steam, to the key discoveries in transport, hydraulics, lighting and telecommunication. You’ll see how vacuum can be used to operate engines and railways, how a light bulb can also be used to measure the faintest puff of wind, and how messages can be sent over miles of wires in simple ways. They will come right up to the present day with an commercially available invention nick-named the Mollimeter, for measuring molecular weight, and a novel kind of semi-electronic musical instrument.
