Course name: Basic Life Support (BLS) Full Course (for Mackenzie Health Staff and Volunteers Only) Cost (Staff and Volunteers only): $45 This four-hour course is designed to provide basic response to medical emergencies including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automatic external defibrillator (AED) use and choking. Cancellation/Withdrawal: Requests should be sent to professionalpractice.education@mackenziehealth.ca and will be accepted without penalty 14 days prior to your scheduled course date. No refund will be issued after this time. A minimum number of three participants is required to run a Heart and Stroke Foundation certification course. Mackenzie Health reserves the right to cancel the courses should any circumstance beyond the control of Mackenzie Health occurs including, but not limited to, the minimum class size is not met. Additional Information: Participants must agree to respect the equipment, manikins, facilities and employees of Mackenzie Health. You will be practicing skills that require you to work on your hands and knees, and the course requires bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical conditions that might prevent you from engaging in these activities, please tell an instructor. The instructor may be able to adjust the equipment if you have back, knee, or hip problems. Food and beverage will not be included. Participants are responsible to pay for any parking fees that may incur over the period of the course. Resources: All participants are responsible for obtaining the required reading materials prior to attending the course and allow adequate time for review. You will be led by a fun and energetic Dungeon Master, who will immerse you into an interesting, diverse and wonderful world. This adventure is split into two halves to help ease the cost burden. The purchase of this ticket is to participate in the first half of this adventure. Week 1 will be session 0 with a system and rule introduction, along with character creation session. Followed by eight weeks of actual adventuring. You only need to bring yourself, a pen, paper, some dice, and a D&D Beyond account.
