DOORS: 6 PM MOONTRICKS ENDS: 11 PM AFTER PARTY STARTS: 11 PM OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY LINEUP: Steve's Here Tasha Rae Van Damage Trnmeupsum RHesus MOONTRICKS BIO: https://moontricksmusic.com Based in the rustic Kootenay mountains of Western Canada, Nathan Gurley and Sean Rodman of nationally renowned electro-folk duo Moontricks draw inspiration from the ongoing cycles of the natural world. Both volatile and constant—like nature’s best offerings—the band finds solace and beauty in the fusion of seemingly disparate elements. There’s a kind of technicolor campfire quality to their uniquely hybrid sound: Each track is steeped in tradition and polished with a futuristic sheen, mixing organic folk, roots rock, and old-time blues with modern electronic production. Since its initial release, the band’s breakout hit “Home” has reached over 10 million streaming plays, and their original tracks have been licensed for a wide range of television networks, including Netflix and Fox Sports. With the release of their debut full-length album Currents, the duo reveals an ever-evolving, cohesive blend of introspective writing, soulful, gritty blues, boot-stomping basslines, and intricate electronic arrangements. Gurley and Rodman first connected at a music festival in rural BC, then collaborated on a series of rhythmic, instrumental soundscapes that eventually developed into their signature electro-folk sound. After dropping their debut single “Home” in 2013, they joined international tours and festivals in Australia, Costa Rica, and across the USA, gaining a loyal following for their dynamic live shows, which feature a rotating assortment of guitar, keys, banjo, and vocals accented with original electronic elements. Now with their debut album Currents released via Westwood Recordings, Moontricks honor the steadfast cycles of nature that carry the world forward, despite the chaos around and inside us. “The solace found in reaching past our personal confines into the vastness beyond them is something we return to again and again—in nature and in our music,” says lead singer and songwriter Rodman. Gurley, who focuses on production, views the album as a series of paths leading into unknown territory. Vast, intimate, and dazzling, Currents is an album about settling into feeling comfortably lost, and being okay with not knowing it all. It’s about finding joy and inspiration in the act of seeking. Mastering Feedback for Change: Mapping What Exists, Shaping What's Next | 10604 172 St NW

Aug 7, 2025 (UTC-6)
Edmonton
Cultural Experiences
Mastering Feedback for Change: Mapping What Exists, Shaping What's Next Bite Sized 2 Hour Workshop. Focus: Collaborations, Peers, and General Audiences For dates of the other focus audiences, please go to the bottom of the description. Organizations rely on feedback to improve their products, services, and leadership, but not all feedback is useful. Is this the fault of the person providing the feedback or of the person asking for the feedback? Knee jerk reaction is to say that it's the fault of the person providing the feedback, but what if is mainly the fault of the organization? What if we can take a step back, look at the big picture, and breakdown the feedback process in a way that will prompt valuable, useful, and (most importantly) usable feedback? If feedback isn’t being requested or received in a way that’s aligned, then the organization won’t be able to optimize the next “cycle loop”. The purpose of Mastering Feedback for Change is to help organizations, business owners and team leaders restructure how they seek, interpret, and act on feedback to ensure it serves their organizational goals rather than leading them astray. We want to shift your perspective and provide you with the tools to help better navigate changes. To do that we will be exploring 6 elements of Feedback. These elements will provide a new perspective on what your current feedback system looks like, where there are gaps, and what can be changed to receive the type of feedback that is valuable, useful and usable. We will be providing examples, doing activities and having group discussion - which are all tailored to the focus audience of that day's session. Here are 6 of the lessons: Direction of the Feedback - what's the purpose of the feedback and where is it currently taking you? Timing of the Feedback - are you asking for feedback at the wrong time? Voice of the Feedback - which feedback is the loudest vs the wisest? Interpreting the Feedback - what's being said between the lines of the feedback received? Repercussions of the Feedback - are people comfortable giving you the hard truth or are there power imbalances influencing the feedback given? Feedback of the Feedback - how are you acknowledging the feedback that was received? For more information on these lessons, see the images below, see our Instagram page , or see our LinkedIn page to view the mini Feedback series. Takeaways: By the end of this workshop, participants will: Redefine what "feedback" means to their organization Identify common pitfalls in how they currently seek feedback Apply the six key principles for structuring effective feedback systems Gain clarity on what feedback to prioritize and what to filter out Walk away with a clear grasp on how to amend your current feedback strategy and ask more aligned questions Highlights of Kantency Workshops: Shared Language No jargon or lingo. We will build up a shared language together that supports the workshop content Interactive Group Discussions are highly encouraged to share insights, examples, takeaways and suggestions We want the space to become a room full of "Outside Perspectives", helping you to see your areas of resistance from a new lens Hands-On You will receive hand-outs that directly relate to the content with visual prompts. The handouts are designed to reinforce the content being taught, allowing you to focus on what's important rather than scrambling to write down everything said. Immediate Application We do activities during the workshop to ensure that you walk away being able to immediately apply the content we went through. Our Definition of Success When the participants prioritize writing down their ideas of how they will apply the content rather than staring at our slideshow When your brain is tired afterwards from how much thinking & learning you've experienced When the participants are providing fresh perspectives to their peers in the room (via group discussions), rather than relying on the facilitator to provide insight. Maximum capacity of 20 people. Other Focus Audience Dates in Edmonton: Thursday June 26 from 6pm-8pm: for Solopreneurs Thursday July 10 from 9am-11am: for Small Team Leaders and Managers Thursday July 31 from 9am-11am: for Business Owners and Strategic Thinkers Note: "Focus Audience" means that the group discussions and activities will be tailored towards these audiences. The content across the workshops remain consistent with the application of each date varying slightly depending on the audience. If you'd like to attend but the "focus audience" date that best suits you doesn't work for you, we encourage you to sign up for whichever date works best regardless of audience. There is beauty and great benefit in being able to provide the group with an "outside perspective". Information Source: Kantency Consulting Ltd. | eventbrite

Broad-Spectrum Spellcraft | Where Faeries Live

Aug 14, 2025 (UTC-6)
Edmonton
Cultural Experiences
The world is full of millions of potential spell components. Herbs, crystals, and other ingredients all have their own properties...but what if you can't get any of that one item you need? What if you can't burn incense or candles in your home? What if you've found a historical spell that includes toxic ingredients? What if it's not safe to come out of the broom closet where you live, so you can't risk shopping from metaphysical stores and websites, or keeping obviously-witchy items in your home? What if something has happened, and you need to cast a last-minute spell right now , but it's the middle of the night and no stores are open? In this class, we'll look at a real historical spell and dissect its components, exploring reasons why various aspects may be difficult or impossible to find/use/do, and we'll discuss alternative options to make a safe, working spell. All attendees will receive a folder of reference handouts/grimoire pages from the class material, including a list of recommended books, websites, podcasts, etc. HOUSEKEEPING 1) We're still having issues with map apps taking folks to our old location. We've found the best workaround is to enter our address (7933 104 street NW) into the search instead of our shop name. 2) Tickets are available on EventBrite through 11:59pm MST on August 13th. Refunds are available through EventBrite up to seven days before the event. EventBrite fees are non-refundable. 3) Tickets are only available via this Eventbrite listing. Anyone offering tickets via any other medium is likely trying to scam you. Information Source: Where Faeries Live | eventbrite
