Block Printing Party
Kathy Dennin- Meagher, Raye of Light Studio
Friday, May 2
10 am – 1 pm
Limit 10
$65
Join us when Raye of Light Studio brings the art of block printing to the garden. We will learn how to take an image, transfer it on a soft block, carve it and print with it! The new "soft blocks" are easier than those high school art class memories recall.
Choose from one of our simple images to carve or draw one of your own. We will learn the process and then print to our hearts content. You will leave with lots of notes, a new learned process, and your block to print more at home. We will be using speedball inks and all art materials and instructions for this 3 hour class are included. Dress accordingly.
Participants will receive a 20% discount on plants they purchase the day of the class.

Michele Walfred
Saturday, May 31

"Five species of hydrangeas are commonly seen in our landscape. Three are native to Japan and China: the traditional Macrophylla or "mophead", Serrata or "mountain" and Paniculata or "Panicle". Two species of hydrangeas are native the U.S. east coast: Arborescens or "smooth" and Quercifolia or "oakleaf". Delaware Master Gardener Michele Walfred grows 120 hydrangeas in her yard which include all types, including a recent variety of a climbing Hydrangea. Which one is best for your landscape? We will review their sun, shade and pruning requirements. Whether you have a large or small property or are limited only to patio containers, you'll find the perfect one (or more) for your landscape. Michele will be joined by Master Gardener Gerri Jackson. "
