Lewes Food Banks Summer Collection | Outside Lewes Aldi, Tesco and Waitrose

Jul 19, 2025 (UTC+1)
Lewes
Cultural Experiences
Saturday 19 July our Lewes Food Banks Summer collection outside Aldi, Tesco, Waitrose. All day collecting - but nobody does more than a single one hour 'shift.' During the long summer holidays the campaign Feeding Britain describes what should be six weeks of childhood joy as when ' children in the UK are at greater risk of hunger and food insecurity.' This summer 3 milllion children will be at risk of hunger during the school holidays. The loss of free school meals during the holidays costs a family £30-40 per week. Our collection cannot solve a problem on this scale, that is for government, society to fix. But we can help ensure no child in our town goes hungr y through July and August During the day our collectors will provide shoppers with a shopping list of food items. Our request to shoppers is to add just one additional purchase from our list to their shop and donate to the stall we'll have outside the stores. Added together this amounts to one huge total. Please register to collect for an hour on Saturday 19 July . Once registered we'll then be in touch with a rota. Click the 'get tickets' button to volunteer. If you can't help please donate every pound donated will be used to fund the items Lewes Food Banks have told us they need in the greatest number. Click the 'get tickets' button and choose 'donation' we'll then combine these items donors have helped pay for with our collection. The all-day collection is distributed direct to the three Lewes food banks: Fitzjohns, Landport, Malling plus the Lewes Community Fridge. The Wolf Pack: Singing Roots Women's Therapeutic Singing Circle | Private woodland

Jul 25, 2025 (UTC+1)
Lewes
Concerts
Come and be part of our wolf pack - a therapeutic women's singing circle that offers a moment in your month where the pace can slow down, our voices can come together and you can be the one being held. For each of these uniquely crafted circles I create a bespoke ritual to support the theme that we are working with each month. More often than not, you will have something to take home with you in which to root the work and the songs held in our time together. While this isn't a therapy group, as a psychotherapist I hold all my circles in a way that is informed by my training, knowledge and many years of experience and there is always a therapeutic element that you can lean into should you wish. It is a space where you are welcome to arrive as you are, connect in with yourself and then check in to the circle with a few words, if you feel like it. Each circle will be a bit different, but will always be set around a theme (for example rest, belonging, nurture, celebration etc) and will involve a gentle check in, lots of singing and some time in ritual or silence with blankets and relaxing oil for your hands. Numbers for my circles are kept small to allow for a fully immersive, connected, nurturing and therapeutic experience. The Wolf Pack circle invites you to be really present with yourself and the harmonies we will create together. The songs we sing will be a cappella heart songs sung in 2,3 or 4 part harmony. I will teach everything by ear - all abilities are welcome. This circle is held both outside and in a cosy studio at Burtenshaw Farm. We often meet underneath a beautiful ancient Oak tree to sing outside, around a fire and then move into the beautiful studio to continue singing and sharing. If it is too cold, wet or windy, we spend the whole circle inside. I bring hot water, teas and blankets. This circle is for women only. Please note - the studio is up two flights of stairs so if you have mobility issues, please contact me and I will try my best to accommodate. Information Source: Singing Roots | eventbrite
