𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆 Come and explore what makes you funny in this one day workshop hosted by Marny Godden. This workshop isn't about putting on face paint, big floppy shoes and joining the circus. Neither is it about crafting witty punchlines and clever ideas. This is about exploring what it is that makes you uniquely funny, from the inside out. We may be relying on what we think is funny about us but getting no laughs. Through clowning we come to realise that what's funny about us comes out of the moment, not from any preconceived ideas. Sometimes we have an impulse to say or do something but a little voice inside our head stops us. Don't do that, you'll look stupid. But in doing so we lose our childlike sense of play. Clowning is the antidote to this. You'll be encouraged to follow your impulses and embrace being as stupid as possible! This is where you lose yourself and find yourself... and have fun in the process. In this workshop you'll be guided through a series of fun games and exercises using your body, voice and imagination. They are all designed to unlock your natural ability to make people laugh. There is no one like you. Only you hold the key to what is funny about you and I'm here to help you find it. As part of Choose954 & Zero Empty Spaces co-founder Evan Snow's mission of creating platforms to connect + engage our creative community, we look forward to continuing our Choose954 Artist Potlucks series with local artists in our community to come together over a meal and discourse. This time we have even more meaning behind it as we will be hosting during the annual 10 Days Of Connection . About 10 Days of Connection (headed up by our friends at Radical Partners): The division amongst people of different ethnic, religious, political, gender, and class backgrounds has grown. As tolerance for differing ideas has decreased, incidents of hate have increased. Since 2017, for 10 days each year (May 1st - May 10th), we have invited the entire community to do the opposite: burst bubbles, engage in acts of connection, and celebrate differences. We do this by organizing Connection Experiences: Free events for everyone to connect with others across Miami-Dade, Broward and beyond. Our 22nd event will be held at our newest Zero Empty Spaces #33 location inside the Design Center Of The Americas (DCOTA) in showroom B102. This event is BYOB! Now it’s time for the annual Mother of the Year Banquet with the winner to be selected and presented with the Mother of the Year award! The finalists are most certainly great mothers…. or are they? You be the judge. Be prepared to unleash your inner sleuth as something is about to go dreadfully, or should we say “deadfully” wrong at the Mother of the Year Banquet!This audience-interactive murder mystery will create an evening of conspiracy, mystery, and drama.
