Hackensack Riverkeeper's Weekend Morning Guided Kayak Tours | Laurel Hill Park
May 10, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Secaucus
On our flagship guided tours through the Meadowlands estuary, kayakers have the opportunity to view both the Newark skyline and the entire Manhattan skyline from this unique perspective, with a thousand acres of protected wetlands in your foreground. It can’t be beat!
Tours are themed by the day's tide...
High Tide kayakers will be able to explore the many meandering hidden creeks and channels that are sometimes inaccessible during low tide.
Low Tide kayakers can expect to see herons, egrets, shorebirds, ducks, raptors and wrens as well as a good chance to spot muskrats or crabs in the creeks and Diamondback terrapins basking on the mudflats.
Be sure to bring your binoculars or borrow a pair of ours!
EXPERIENCED PADDLERS, Adults 18+ only.
Download directions to Laurel Hill Park
here.
Meet and check in at the Laurel Hill Paddling Center, 1/2 hour before trip departs.
For tour tips, and what to wear, click here.
Save time and download your waiver today!
Tickets are available to rent one of our kayaks, or bring your own!
*NOTE: For those who would like to bring their own boats, traditional or PVC kayaks perform best in the waters of Laurel Hill. It is recommended that foldable kayaks be models that are specified as suitable for choppy water. Not every foldable kayak is appropriate or sturdy enough for live current/choppy water paddling. Inflatable kayaks are generally not recommended as they could risk puncture in the tall grasses and may be hindered if the wind gusts. If unsure, we recommend you rent one of ours.
Refund policy:
We do not honor refunds for No-Shows. If you cannot make your date/time we can transfer your ticket to another date with advance notice. If you wish to get a refund for a date you cannot attend, we require you contact us at least 24 hours beforehand.
Weather:
If weather is inclement (thundertorms, high winds) or there's heavy cloud cover, we will cancel the trip and refund you the night before or within 2 hours before the event time.
A note about price increases. Please forgive us for raising the prices slightly! We strive to always give you the best tour we can and to keep our fleet (and our guides!) in good working order. All rates are considered tax deductible donations to Hackensack Riverkeeper a 501(3)(c) organization.
