Jun 7, 2025 (UTC+1)
Wirral
The amazing Frank Cottrell Boyce is back with a spectacular new middle-grade book, and he's coming to Linghams to tell us all about it! All children's paid tickets include a copy of The Blockbusters and a seat to listen to Frank. Children must be accompanied by an adult, (non-paying), but restricted space means standing room only for adults or you can grab a coffee in the cafe!
'Year 6 goes to Hollywood!
Head to Tinseltown in this hilarious and heart-warming adventure by bestselling, award-winner Frank Cottrell-Boyce. The Blockbusters! is fabulously illustrated in black and white throughout by Steven Lenton.
When new boy Rafa and his friends accidentally stray onto the set of a Hollywood blockbuster, the last thing they expect is to become part of the action. Rafa’s likeness to the famous movie star, BB, gives him VIP access all areas, including the banquet of catering doughnuts!
But Rafa isn’t the only one having an adventure. His big brother, Cillian, is missing. He sent Rafa a clue to his location, but he can’t really be in
actual
Hollywood, can he? It’s up to Rafa to keep acting the part of a movie star, if he is to find his brother – and home.'

Jun 2, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Wirral
02/06/2025 7:00 pm
We are delighted to be hosting Conn Iggulden for an evening to celebrate the release of his latest historical novel, Tyrant.
Ancient Rome, AD 50
The boy Nero lives. His mother Agrippina has married her way to power, tangling the Emperor Claudius in her skirts.
The emperor may have a son and heir of his own, but Agrippina sees no obstacles to her ambition.
Rome is a path through a marsh, lit by torches. Those who walk it are always one step from disaster – and the road itself is treacherous, slippery with blood.
Claudius may have the world at his feet, but he has Agrippina in his bed.
CONN IGGULDEN

, in which Iggulden returns to the Ancient World. Both instalments of his Athenian series,
The Gates of Athens
and
Protector
, and his recent Golden Age series, Lion and Empire, are
Sunday Times
bestsellers.
Tyrant
follows on from the

bestselling
Nero
in Iggulden’s most recent series
