Dance with your Baby - Taster Session in Bo'ness in the morning | Bridgeness Welfare Society & Social Club
Apr 24, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Bo
Are you looking for a new activity with your little one (age 3 months upwards)? Join our taster event for a new “Dance with your Baby” class organised by Bo’ness Dance. Get connected with your baby in a very special way and start your journey into Scottish and International Dancing. What do I love the most when my wee daughter is with me at our dance classes? Those cuddles in the carrier are just wonderful, she becomes so relaxed, laying against me and listens my voice from a very different perspective. She just loves the music and the movements. The classes include basic movements of Ceilidh and Scottish Country dances, traditional and more modern ones and even sometimes brand-new dances devised by me. Zsofi (Sophie) leads the classes and there will be recorded music and we will make sure it is not too loud for the little ones. We take photos and videos at our classes for promotional reasons. Please let us know on the day if you and/or your baby don't want to be included in these. Please fill up our Google Form to be sure we know your special needs if there is any: https://forms.gle/bE22Lb5UvPwb9dCq9 The venue is the lounge of the Bridgeness Club at Harbour Road in Bo’ness. There is free parking on the street around the club. The lounge has a very comfortable seating area perfect for enjoying a drink and snack after the class, feed your baby or just have a wee chat with the other parents. There is a changing table available as well. The classes will be on Thursdays 10:15-10:45, the venue opens at 10:00. If there is enough interest we may look into opening up more dates and times in different locations, so if this time is not suitable for you still fill the form so we can add you to our email list for future newsletters. There are no obligatory outfits. If you are not able to come along to the class, you are welcome to let a friend have your place, so it is not wasted but please let me know who to expect, so we can welcome them. If you have any further questions, message us at boness.dance@gmail.com For the class bring along a baby carrier that you are familiar with and your baby likes sitting in, a pair of comfy shoes (trainers are perfect, no high heels please), a friend with another baby, if you like, and your sense of humour to start your journey into the wonderful world of dancing together.

Ceilidh dancing is the biggest fun that you could ever take part in. What is a Ceilidh? Traditional and more modern dances, which you can learn in a few minutes and enjoy. It is very inclusive, you will meet new people, change partners and hopefully laugh a lot. We provide live music by Phill, calling and teaching all the dances by Zsofi in a wonderful venue at the Bridgeness Miners Welfare on Harbour Road in Bo’ness. No experience, partner or kilt are needed, just you. Bring along a pair of comfy shoes (trainers are perfect, no high heels please), a friend, if you like, and your sense of humour and have an hour of fun with us. Absolutely no age limit, but under 18 years old should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Kids are more than welcome. Parking is free in the nearby streets but can be busy if it is a nice day. The venue is accessible by wheelchair as well, but you will need to go through two sets of doors, so you may need a hand to help you come in. We take photos and videos at our classes for promotional reasons, please let us know on the day if you don't want to be included in these. Scottish Dancing is so popular all around the world, we welcome all nationalities at our events. At our Easter Ceilidh we will have an Egghunt for the kids, please register all the kids with us in advance. Tickets are available at the door too.
