Join CPAWS Manitoba for a morning group hike at the picturesque St Adolphe Friendship Trail. This guided hike starts at 11:00 am and offers a refreshing escape into nature, just a short drive from Winnipeg. The trail is 2.7km long and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, featuring flat and easy terrain that is suitable for all skill levels. As you walk along the trail, you'll have the opportunity to explore a beautiful bird sanctuary, where you may spot various bird species during their fall migration. The St Adolphe Friendship Trail is the result of the hard work and dedication of Henriette and Richard Collette, a local couple who tirelessly cleaned up the area during the early years of the pandemic. Their efforts led to the creation of a small trail, which eventually gained community support and became the beloved St Adolphe Friendship Trail. Along the trail, you'll find rest spots and unique decor, such as bird feeders and windchimes, created by the Colettes and other community members. To reach the trailhead, simply type 'St Adolphe Friendship Trail' into a GPS or smartphone. Please note that the instructions may direct you to the north trailhead, while the group will meet at the south trailhead. Alternatively, you can follow these directions from Winnipeg: head south on Highway 75 to the junction of Provincial Road Hwy 210, then turn east on 210. Continue until you reach the junction of 75 and Main Street, turn south onto Main Street. Continue south until you reach the junction of Main Street and St Paul Street, turn west on St Paul Street. The trailhead is located at the end of the street. During the hike, it is recommended to bring at least two bottles of water, as well as snacks to keep your energy up. There are no outhouses at the trailhead, but the trail is located within the town of St Adolphe, where you can find a grocery store and gas station nearby. Join us for a morning full of outdoor fun and friendly conversations. CPAWS staff will guide you along the trail and share their love for nature. Please note that this is not an interpretive event, but our team will do their best to answer any questions you may have. If you have any specific inquiries or require accommodations, please email us at info@cpawsmb.org.
