DM @builtbymeanred for group rates and more information!! There’s much more to Shiba San than what meets the ear at first listen. As a two-time International Dance Music Award-winning producer with over 15 #1 Beatport tracks, there’s a reason why DJ Mag France named Shiba San ‘Best of House.’ Leaving behind a 15-year long career in the French hip-hop scene, the Parisian producer became fascinated with the sounds of Chicago house and was inspired to create his own productions, infusing his hip-hop influence with the soul of house music. Then came ‘Okay,’ the track that “changed the way we listened to music” (Dancing Astronaut) and became the anthem of 2014, claiming the #1 position on Beatport’s House chart for 82 days. Upon its release, Rolling Stone deemed ‘Okay’ a “global club sensation in waiting,” a prophetic description that couldn’t have rung more true as it remains a commanding moment in DJ sets even to this day. Shiba San’s debut release on DFTD, ‘All I Need’ with fellow Frenchman Tim Baresko, dominated Beatport’s overall chart at the #1 position for over a month. The song landed on multiple ‘Best of 2018’ lists, with notable support from influential tastemakers, such as Pete Tong, Calvin Harris, Jack Back (David Guetta), among others. His critically acclaimed record label, Basement Leak, is home to some of the finest tech house tracks on the scene right now. Since the label’s inception in 2017, Basement Leak has taken over stages at renowned festivals and curated its own events at Art Basel, Miami Music Week, FriendShip, Groove Cruise, Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles and Faust in Paris. Staying quiet on the public front, Shiba San remains a curious enigma to his international fan base, allowing the music to do the talking for him. In between releases and time spent concocting in the studio, Shiba San remains a mainstay on the nightlife and festival circuit around the globe. There are no signs of slowing down for the Parisian producer. Information Source: MeanRed Productions | eventbrite

A night of improvisation for musicians and non-musicians alike The Ego Free Jam is a monthly night of improvisational music - electronic and acoustic - for musicians and sound makers of all skill levels. WHAT HAPPENS? We'll go on a co-creative journey, with emphasis placed on listening to and supporting each other. There will be space for dancing and body movement, feel free to make art, or just listen. There are no spectators, only creators. Allow for the magic to happen! The opening ritual is an invitation to overcome our resistance to self-expression. Take a little risk and delight in knowing that it didn't kill you ;) 7:30 PM: Doors open, time to settle & mingle 8 PM: JAM #1 10 PM: JAM #2 This is a shoes-off event. Let loose. P ay as you are able, we suggest $20-25. *** THE SIX JAM GUIDELINES - Explore & Play! - No judgment - of yourself or others. - Claim space: Do a solo, stand out, be loud, stay connected, and step back when it’s time for someone else to claim space. - Listen to others. - No spectators. Even if you're not making sounds, be present, tune in. - Have fun! EGO-FREE IS DELIGHTFUL! The ego is the part of us that wants to keep us safe in the world and tries to make us NOT do something. It shows up as fear and embarrassment. When we get the urge to "do it right” out of the way, we can play and feel the delight. DO I NEED TO BE A MUSICIAN? Not at all. You can pick up an instrument and improvise, vocalize, move your body, make something, or just listen. WHAT TO BRING? You are encouraged to bring an instrument, dancing body, art supplies, favorite toy, whatever inspires you and is fun for you. Or come as you are. We have percussion instruments, a piano, synthesizers, mics, & more. FOOD & DRINK We'll have both by donation. IS THIS A REOCCURRING EVENT? Yes! It's every first Saturday of the month (check the website to be sure). Hear about future jams through our FB, IG (@delightfactorynyc) and email (delightfactoryNYC.com/signup), or follow us here on Eventbrite. CAN I COME FOR PART OF IT? Sure! Try and come before either of the jam starts but you're welcome any time. Stay for however long or briefly you want! HEALTH COVID is still here. Please attend at your own risk. We’ll have cross air where possible, hepa filter, and sanitizing spray and wipes for instruments. If you're having symptoms, please stay home. We encourage masks. Thank you! GETTING THERE C to Rockaway Avenue (it's NOT in the Rockaways!) - take the exit closer to Manhattan for a shorter walk. JZ to Chauncey C ITIBIKE stations nearby ABOUT DELIGHT FACTORY & THE JAM The Ego Free Jam started as a monthly event in our living room in 2017. We decided to create a permanent space for the jam, as well as for art shows and other events that involve music, dance, soulful exploration & play. In the fall of 2021 we opened Delight Factory as a bold, supportive, intimate, and welcoming space for creative and curious people to come together, explore their interests and selves, while having a good time. We'd love to hear if you have feedback or ideas for a collaboration. -- Elke & Jason, co-founders https://www.delightfactorynyc.com/about-2 Information Source: Delight Factory | eventbrite

This year's theme, "Power to the Plate: Who Decides What We Eat?" will explore how power, policy, culture, and economics shape food access. The annual Voices of Change Youth Conference is back! Presenting the Power to the Plate: Who Decides What We Eat? The Youth Leadership Conference is a high-energy day where 200+ young New Yorkers (ages 14–24) come together to explore how power, policy, culture, and economics shape our food system. Through dynamic workshops, youth-led panels, creative performances, and interactive think tanks, participants will unpack food justice from farm to table, and build the skills to advocate, organize, and lead change in their communities. Join us on Saturday, May 2, 2026 (10 AM–3 PM) at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn for a day of education, culture, connection, and action. Because food is power. And youth deserve a seat at the table. To learn more, visit https://www.tcahnyc.org/yep Information Source: The Campaign Against Hunger | eventbrite
