It’s back and better than ever for our 13th Anniversary!! Decked-Out-Live comes back, with your favorite bands, some new ones, and never a repeat. Every Friday evening, all summer long (May-September), we’ll be pouring your favorite wines, beers, ciders and seltzers while the bands play on our expanded patio! What happens if it rains? Our Friday night concerts are rain or shine. If there is heavy rain in the forecast, we will move the concert inside. When the concerts are moved inside, it is very likely we will not have any tickets available at the door based on capacity limitations and pre-sold tickets. Any determination about moving the concert is made by noon that day and posted on our social media channels. Are tickets available at the door? Generally yes, tickets are available both at the door, and online. What kind of food and beverages are available? Rolling Grill will be onsite every Friday to prepare a wonderful menu for our guests to enjoy if they choose. Wine, beer, cider and soft drinks are also available for purchase. Am I allowed to bring my own food/beverages to the concerts? While we do permit guests to bring food onsite, we do not permit outside beverages (Wine/Beer/Liquor/Hard seltzers/etc). Non-alcoholic beverages must be sealed. Do we need to bring our own chairs/blankets/etc? We encourage you to bring blankets & chairs as seating is not guaranteed and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Student interested in filmmaking will have the opportunity to learn the basic language of story structure and elements, cinematography (composition, framing, lighting), and production on set. Working with modern equipment, the goal of the program is to expose the students to the creative and technical challenges and successes that come with creating original works for the moving picture. You'll discover how to contribute to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s NestWatch program and help scientists study bird breeding biology. Using real-life examples from the Norman Bird Sanctuary’s Bird Box program, you'll learn to monitornests and gather meaningful data. Plus, we’ll head out for a guided walk to check on tree swallow nests in a nearby field. It’s the perfect blend of science and nature—don’t miss out! About the Presenter: Sara Poirier is the Norman Bird Sanctuary Science Coordinator. She plays a key role in overseeing the Bird Box program, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Celebrate spring by getting outside and learning how to forage! In this workshop you will learn how to identify different wild edible and medicinal plants that grow in the spring. We will learn about spring ephemerals which are plants that only come for a short time and then they go back into the ground for the rest of the year! Trout lilies, violets, garlic mustard, dead head nettle, dandelions, plantain, field garlic, honeysuckle, nettles, and other plants will be identified. Some plants will have a life cycle for the whole growing season and we will talk about how they will grow and their uses. We will look for mushrooms and identify them as well. Dryad's saddle and morels will be out this time of year. Learn what mother earth has to offer for food, medicine, and more... Class will begin with opening Qi gong exercises to help us get grounded and connected to the earth! We will also have bags and gloves available to pickup any trash that we may find in the park.
