Learn the basics of lino printing with Rachel Holborow of RK Wanderings printmaking - an experienced teacher, member of York Printmakers and York Open Studios artist. In this three and a half hour workshop you will learn about the tools and materials of lino printmaking; design your own lino block (you can bring an idea (A6 drawing, high contrast photo, or collage) of what you might like to print) and carve your block; then experiment with printing it. We will use oil based inks, which are non-toxic and easy to clean up. There will be a maximum of 4 participants and you must be over 18 to take part. Be aware, you will use sharp tools at your own risk! (Safety tips will be covered at the beginning of the workshop and must be adhered to.) All materials for the workshop are included in the price, and you can take home the lino block you carve and your prints will be sent to you when dry (usually about a week). Course description: This program will provide dentists with the essential knowledge and practical skills for successfully bonding e.max lithium disilicate restorations to dentin and enamel. Participants will learn how to determine whether bonding or cementation is the most appropriate method for securing the restoration, considering factors such as material compatibility and clinical requirements. Topics covered will include: Comprehensive understanding between Bonding and Cementing a restoration in place Understanding why MDP chemistry will allow a cement to bond Zirconia to Dentin or Enamel Master Cementation categories and the substructures that align with each category. Metalshop Safety Orientation Class This class will guide you through basics of welding and safe use of the tools in The Foundry's Metalshop (MIG welder, plasma cutter, rollers and grinders). You will work on making a small momento to take home as you learn the metal shop skills.
