Ridding Yourself of Sexual Shame | 1800 S. Broadway
Jul 24, 2025 (UTC-6)
Denver
Ridding Yourself of Sexual Shame
is a transformative, body-positive class designed to help you confront, unpack, and release the lingering effects of sexual shame. Whether your shame stems from societal conditioning, religious teachings, trauma, or cultural taboos, this class offers a supportive space to begin healing. Through guided journaling, group discussion, and gentle somatic exercises, we’ll explore how shame lives in the body and how it can be compassionately uprooted.
Participants will be encouraged to move at their own pace as we work through themes like pleasure, consent, self-expression, and internalized judgment. We’ll break down toxic myths around sexuality and replace them with affirming truths rooted in self-acceptance, empowerment, and choice. The class invites you to show up as you are—messy, curious, tender, bold—and to begin rewriting your sexual story with honesty and agency.
This experience is for anyone who wants to feel more at home in their body and more connected to their desires without fear or guilt. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to reflect, share (as much or as little as you like), and try something new. This is a shame-free zone where all genders, sexual orientations, and relationship styles are welcome. Come ready to ride out the old narratives and reclaim your sensual self.
About the Instructor: Fawn O’Breitzman has been a college professor for over 20 years. She specializes in issues of Sex and Gender and presents at conferences all around the country and is now the co-owner of the Sexploratorium. She has been a social worker and therapist, as well as a professional queer, wife and mother. She has worked with countless people who have overcome negative sexual experiences and find joy in their sexuality once more!

What Could a Land Value Tax Do for Denver and Colorado? | NOVEL Uptown
Jul 30, 2025 (UTC-6)
Denver
This special event, co-sponsored by YIMBY Denver and the Progress and Poverty Institute, is an opportunity for policymakers to learn about the land value tax concept and how it could be applied in Denver and the Front Range to make the property tax a tool for progress without necessarily raising overall taxes. We will tour nearby parcels that are underutlized along Colfax & Logan, and then meet at Novel Uptown for a presentation on how the Land Value Tax could help incentivize development of those properties.
Meet at NOVEL Uptown prepared for a 30 minute walking tour around the area, and then we will return to NOVEL Uptown for a presentation in their common room.
