This event is a 2 session evening class. You should attend both sessions.
In these workshops with Fiona Meade Crochet you will learn the core crochet stitches – chain, double, and treble crochet. You will also learn how to read crochet patterns. In the first class we will begin your first project, a cosy headband/ear warmer and in the second class we will get started on granny squares!
Class 1: Monday 12th May 2025, 7pm - 9.30pm
Class 2: Monday 19th May 2025, 7pm - 9.30pm
This class is suitable for complete beginners. You do not need to have crocheted before.
Light refreshments and all materials are included in the course fee. This includes your hook, yarn, all your notes and pattern.

This workshop takes place at Baa! 43 Evan Street, Stonehaven. There is stepless access to the shop. There are toilet facilities but they are not wheelchair accessible.
Terms and Conditions
No children under 12. Children and teenagers 12 to 18 years old must be accompanied by a participating (ticket-holding) adult.
You can cancel via Eventbrite up to 30 days before the event with no penalty. Eventbrite’s fees are non-refundable, so they won't be returned to the ticket buyer unless the event is cancelled.
Closer to the event there is a sliding refund scale, depending on the proximity to the event. Please inform Fiona that you are withdrawing from the class with as much notice as possible.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as you can so I can offer your ticket to somebody on the waiting list. If a replacement cannot be found, the refund is 50% between 30 & 14 days before the event with no refund within 14 days. All efforts will be made to re-sell your ticket, allowing you a full refund.
If the class is cancelled you will get a full ticket refund, or the option to transfer onto a later class. Travel/accommodation expenses will not be refunded.

This class is perfect for busy beginners looking to improve their skills without the commitment of weekly/expensive courses. Bring your own project to work on and our experienced tutors will be on hand to guide you step-by-step, whilst giving you the freedom to follow your own personal sewing journey. Classes can be booked on a regular basis or more ad-hoc, as and when you need some extra help & tuition.

On May 26, 2025, enjoy a beautiful morning in one of the most stunning protected landscapes in the Northern Piedmont region. We will begin at Kinross Farm with brief remarks about our critical conservation mission and the storied history of the infamous “Segregation Lane”, the dividing line between the hunt territory of the Piedmont Fox Hounds and Orange County Hounds.
Participants will then depart at their own comfortable pace along a specific course down Segregation Lane and through Kinross and Smitten Farms, two of the most prestigious private racing estates in Virginia. These properties are celebrated leaders in the conservation field, being entirely preserved through conservation easements and governed by the latest best management practices.
Participants should be prepared to traverse rugged uneven terrain, including very steep hills and water crossings.
This event is open to participants aged 16 and older.
The afternoon will conclude with snacks, drinks, and camaraderie.
