The Chris Langan Traditional Irish Music Weekend About This Event The Chris Langan Traditional Irish Music Weekend (May 2nd-4th, 2025) is an annual Toronto festival with concerts and workshops, featuring some of the finest Irish musicians and teachers from around the world. Nazih Borish is a world-famous oud player from Syria. His virtuosic playing has earned him recognition throughout the world as one of the foremost experts of this stringed instrument so integral to Arabic music. Now living in Montreal, Nazih is coming to Halifax to perform a special concert withCanadian bassist Roberto Occhipinti (two-time Juno Award nominee) and world percussionist Nick Halley (regular drummer with James Taylor). This concert is presented in memory of Ahmad Al Marrach, whose untimely death last spring has affected the lives of so many in our city.
