Collate. Collaborate. Collage. On the first Wednesday of every month collage lovers rejoice together at House of Toad in Glasgow's West End. Our monthly meet-ups are all about keeping things relaxed, creative and refreshingly unpretentious. No rigid workshops or intimidating art jargon—just a free space to unleash your inner artist, even if it’s been hiding for decades. Here’s the best part: anyone can collage. Seriously. If you’ve got paper and an idea — or even just paper — you’re halfway there. We do ask that if you're coming along, please bring some materials you are happy to share with the rest of the group. Any old newspapers, magazines, off cuts of wallpaper - anything you're not precious about keeping. One man's trash is another man's treasure and all that! Look forward to seeing you there! How Speed Dating Works in Glasgow When you arrive at the Glasgow venue you will be greeted by our friendly professional hosts. Once everyone has arrived and registered we will briefly explain the format of the evening. The ladies will then be asked to make their way to their allocated table. Once the ladies are seated the gentlemen will be asked to proceed to their first date. You will have 4 minutes to chat to each date, once the 4 minutes is over we will ring a bell to indicate the time is up and for the gentlemen to move to their next date. Four minutes is long enough to see if you click with the person you are talking to and whether you would like to see them again and also short enough if you don't. At the end of each date you have a brief few moments to make some notes on the person you have just dated. This is something to help jog your memory for the post event matching process the next day. Half way through the event you will have an interval break so you can nip to the toilet or top up your drink. Once all the dates are over you have the opportunity to stay on at the venue to mingle freely with others. Please remember to take your dating card home with you to assist you in entering in your ticks and potential matches. Post Event No later than 11am the following morning our matching system will be unlocked for you to enter your ticks from the previous evening. You have all day to tick as many people as you like from the night before. We guarantee you will find someone you will want to see again, otherwise we will give you your next Speed Dating event for free! Are you new to teaching practical cake craft in a Home Economics or college setting? This is the class for you! I have been teaching practical cake craft since it was introduced I believe around 10 years ago. I also have been involved in the assessment of the course and so I have a great overview to be able to share my knowledge and experience on a practical level with you. I am well aware of the specific demand for a practical class like this and therefore would like to offer it. This class will focus on 4 of the finishing decoration techniques (piping, crimping, embossing & commercial aids). You will leave with a cake that you have decorated for your family to enjoy as well as a cake dummy that you can use to try out your new skills on. You will also leave with multiple resources that you are welcome to use in school and an unknown number of hints and tips to take into your teaching. You will learn practical strategies to teach pupils as well as vital information around the assessment of the course. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions that you have in a smaller group setting. This course is in no way affiliated with, endorsed by or in anyway linked to SQA. Tour de 4 is an exciting new cycling initiative inspired by Sir Chris Hoy’s vision to change perceptions around stage 4 cancer, following his own diagnosis. This inaugural event encourages everyone affected by cancer, whether directly or indirectly, to come together and ride for a cause that matters. Anyone who can ride a bike is invited to participate, helping to challenge misconceptions and raise vital funds for cancer charities across the UK. For those who are unable to cycle on the road but still want to be part of the Tour de 4 community, our Yellow Ride will feature static bikes set up in the centre of the iconic Sir Chris Hoy velodrome. Choosing between 1 and 20 minutes, depending on your individual goals and health, participants of the Yellow ride can enjoy the Tour de 4 experience in a controlled environment while connected with other members of the community. With some special guests joining the static bike experience, we promise this will be a special moment to be part of! As a participant in the static bike segment, you will receive two wristbands: one for yourself and one for a guest, granting access to the Tour de 4 Festival. These will be held in the Emirates Arena Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. For more details on participation and additional information, please visit our website: Tour de 4 Website.
