Rooted in centuries of aesthetic refinement, Ikebana is a meditative practice that celebrates nature, balance, and the changing seasons. We will begin with a projected presentation on the Ohara School of Ikebana, which emphasizes seasonal materials and naturalistic landscapes. Our instructor, Jenny’s, completed arrangement will be available for close study, providing a visual example of the fundamental principles of design, space, and line. Next you will put these principles into practice by creating your own unique arrangement under Jenny’s guidance. You'll take home not only a beautiful floral arrangement but also an appreciation for the mindful artistry of Ikebana. In this 2 hour workshop, you will learn about Ikebana as you create a beautiful arrangement. The workshop includes all materials flowers stems leaves container If you have a container you want to use, please bring it. This class is hands-on in a covered outdoor space, so dress for the weather in clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and prepare to enjoy an afternoon of education and creativity!
