Our Forest Bathing+ sessions at National Trust Leith Hill consist of a 2.5-hour gentle walk under the canopy of trees, amongst beautiful woodland. You’ll be guided through a series of sensory exercises designed to develop a deeper connection with nature, calming body and mind, before we conclude with a guided relaxation. During the session your Forest Bathing+ Guide will share some of the science that shows why time with trees is so good for us, including research into the surprising secret benefits of breathing woodland air. Our main aim, however, is to help you unwind. Slowing right down and focusing on nature allows us to step away from our busy minds, letting worries and cares melt away. We experience the natural world in a different way, perhaps like a child would, seeing things in more detail, with clarity and awe. You'll never look at woodland in the same way again! We are looking forward to sharing the restorative power of nature with you! About The Forest Bathing Institute (TFBI) Since its foundation in 2018 by Gary Evans and Olga Terebenina, guides from The Forest Bathing Institute have led hundreds of Forest Bathing+ sessions for thousands of people. We know it works from the transformations we have witnessed. Science backs us up: there is a vast and ever-growing body of evidence showing the potential benefits of forest bathing from normalising blood pressure and reducing stress, to improving sleep and enhancing immune function. TFBI itself is heavily involved in research with numerous universities across the globe, and studies have shown that our Forest Bathing+ sessions boost mood and nature connection , while reducing negative emotions such as depression and fatigue. For more about our research programme, visit https://tfb.institute/scientific-research . What do people say about our sessions? "Excellent! Well organised, very peaceful and calming. August 2025 Networking Breakfast Join us for Mole Valley Chamber's Networking Breakfast. Join us for Mole Valley Chamber's Networking Breakfast We are delighted to invite you to Mole Valley Chamber's monthly networking breakfast. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with local businesses, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and gain valuable insights from our inspiring guest speaker. Our speaker this month is Liz Grace from MCR Pathways . MCR Pathways are an award winning charity that provides 1-2-1 mentoring for young people in schools across Surrey. Their mentors are all volunteers who give just 1 hour a week to support a young person facing challenges. No specific experience is required; they give full training and ongoing support. Liz will be talking about the power of mentoring and how this not only supports our young people and ultimately our whole community but it also the benefits those people who give their time to mentor as well as the employers who allow their staff to get involved with volunteering, specifically mentoring, and how it can benefit their Social Value/CSR efforts. To summarise: mentoring has clear impacts for all: the mentee has the support of a reliable and caring adult relationship to help them with their challenges; the mentor develops skills in many areas including empathy and active listening, communication and hence core leadership skills; the employer/business benefits through increased morale, staff development, staff retention, productivity and engagement with a truly impactful local social purpose. About our speaker Liz has worked in the charity sector for 8 years, and previously was the Fundraising Manager and Volunteer Manager for a charity called Dyscover in Leatherhead, and prior to that, she worked in Recruitment. September 2025 Networking Breakfast Join us for Mole Valley Chamber's Networking Breakfast We are delighted to invite you to Mole Valley Chamber's monthly networking breakfast. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with local businesses, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and gain valuable insights from our inspiring guest speakers. Common legal myths and misunderstandings – separating fact from fiction The Mole Valley Chamber of Commerce is delighted to welcome two of its own members, Demelza Patricio of TWM Solicitors and Michelle Truelove of Surrey Hills Solicitors , as guest speakers at our upcoming event. Between them, they’ve seen and heard just about every legal myth under the sun – and they’re here to set the record straight. We all know the law can feel a little intimidating, wrapped in centuries of tradition and jargon, but what really trips people up are the myths that circulate around it. This session will shine a light on some of the most common misunderstandings, giving you clarity, confidence and maybe even a sigh of relief. Some of the myths under the microscope: “Common law marriage” – Couples living together often believe they have the same rights as married partners. Spoiler alert: they don’t. Separating couples – Think courts always favour mums? Or that bad behaviour will automatically affect the financial outcome? Demelza and Michelle will explain what really happens. Prenups – Are they not worth the paper they’re written on, or do they offer total protection? The truth is more nuanced (and far more useful). Wills – Many assume an old Will made before marriage remains valid, or that partners automatically inherit when living together. The reality may surprise you. Taking legal advice early – Why it can save time, money, and stress – and why many people put it off unnecessarily. Google vs. solicitors – Sure, you can ask the internet anything (even ChatGPT!), but when it comes to your future, nothing replaces tailored professional advice. Why attend? Whether you’re running a business, planning for the future, or simply curious about your own circumstances, this is a chance to hear directly from two highly experienced legal professionals in a relaxed, accessible format. Demelza and Michelle will be busting myths, answering questions, and ensuring you leave better informed – and maybe even entertained. So if you’ve ever wondered whether that thing your mate told you down the pub is actually true, this is your opportunity to find out. More details to come. Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out!
