More Than Brave. The Life of Henry Aaron. | Atlanta History Center
Mar 12–Sep 30, 2025 (UTC-5)
Atlanta
Henry Louis Aaron lived an extraordinary life.
Henry Aaron was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1934 and grew up playing baseball whenever he got a chance, inspired by Black baseball players he followed in the negro leagues. At that time, baseball in the United States was segregated and the major and minor leagues did not allow Black baseball players.
Forty years later, on April 8, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia, Henry Aaron would break Babe Ruth’s homerun record providing one of the most exciting moments in both baseball and Atlanta history.
Aaron overcame obstacles through personal determination and incredible acts of bravery at each step of his journey.
Kim Chong Hak, Painter of Seoraksan | Atlanta
Apr 11–Nov 2, 2025 (UTC-5)
Atlanta
Kim Chong Hak, Painter of Seoraksan introduces the work of prolific Korean painter Kim Chong Hak to American audiences for the first time. Born in 1937, Kim lived through multiple conflicts and significant societal upheavals, including the Japanese colonization of Korea (1910–1945), the splitting of North and South Korea (1948), the Korean War (1950–1953), the turbulent democratic movements of the 1970s and 1980s, and ongoing tensions between the divided nations.Throughout all of this, Kim sought to respond to and express the impact of these often-traumatic changes to daily life in Korea. While many of his peers focused their attention on abstract, formal, and process-based explorations in their art (termed Dansaekhwa or monochromatic art) as a response to limits on sociopolitical representation and agency, Kim rejected this direction and instead turned to the Korean landscape.

The Candybox Revue is an award-winning Atlanta burlesque ensemble and dance troupe full of sparkling burlesque glamour, musical theatre, and Las Vegas-style Bump & Grind. Burlesque is a vital, vibrant, and powerful art. It is theatrical, political, funny, entertaining, and family-friendly when needed. We are part of the #IAmBurlesque International Movement, which showcases burlesque performers of all body types, abilities, ethnicities and races, identities, and experiences as proud individuals and entertainers.
Through performances that celebrate everyday humor, theatrical narratives, highlight social justice movements, and uplift marginalized voices The Candybox Revue is redefining Burlesque entertainment by challenging society’s perception on what is worthy of being represented onstage. We adhere to the concept that burlesque isn’t defined by size, ability, color or age - it is an artform that is for everyone. With a wide assortment of burlesque and variety show talent and an array of production themes, we produce high-quality and entertaining burlesque shows in Georgia.
