Vera Stanhope returns in the eleventh formidable novel in Ann Cleeves’ acclaimed series A man’s body is found in the early morning light by a local dog walker on the common outside Rosebank, a care home for troubled teens. The victim is Josh, a staff member, who was due to work the previous night but never showed up. DCI Vera Stanhope is called out to investigate the death. Her only clue is the disappearance of one of the home’s residents, fourteen-year-old Chloe Spence. Vera can’t bring herself to believe that a teenager is responsible for the murder, but even she can’t dismiss the possibility. Vera, Joe and new team member Rosie Bell are soon embroiled in the case, and when a second connected body is found near the Three Dark Wives standing stones in the wilds of the Northumbrian countryside, superstition and folklore begin to collide with fact. Vera knows she has to find Chloe to get to the truth, but it seems that the dark secrets in their community may be far more dangerous than she could ever have believed possible. It’s that time of year when buzzwords like “spring cleanse” and “detox” are in the air. However not all trends are created equal. In this class we will deep dive into what it really means to detox your body and debunk our favorite “detox” myths.  Our liver, kidneys and lymphatic system have been working hard all winter to keep us healthy. The spring is the perfect time to work with herbal tonics to support these organs and ensure their optimal functioning. In this class we will be working with herbs such as nettle, milk thistle, dandelion, burdock and cleavers to support lymphatic flow, and the detoxifying and elimination functions of the kidneys and liver.  The best part? These herbs are available right in your backyard! This is a hands-on introductory herbal workshop where we will learn plant identification, sustainable harvesting practices, and make remedies designed to build long term health. Ages 18+. Space is limited, please register in advance! Light refreshments will be served.  About the instructor: Alexandra Radoaca is an herbalist, wilderness guide and sound practitioner. She focuses on building health through nourishment and working with local, accessible, abundant plants. She believes that herbalism is accessible to everyone. All we need is to follow our curiosity and get our hands in the dirt, the plants teach us the rest! She is the founder of Mindful Wilderness, an organization focused on herbal education and Vulgaris Herbs, an herbal shop in Sugar Loaf, NY. She is a New York State-certified camping and hiking guide and a Wilderness First Responder. Information Source: All One One All (AOOA) Farm | eventbrite
