grittier, gorier, and gloriously gruesome.

The Most Perilous Comedie of Elizabeth I - at Coventry Cathedral | Coventry Cathedral
Jun 15, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Coventry
Elizabethan theatre is flourishing. But will a brand-new Tudor musical romp, in which Good Queen Bess takes to the stage herself, be the making of this heroine or spell the beginning of her downfall? The stage is set for regicidal rivalries, devious dramatics, and plotting playwrights. Beset by misunderstandings and a script that…let’s just say…needs some work, this production promises to be largely historical, always hysterical. As the old saying goes…thy show must go-eth on! ★★★★★ – “So entertaining…laugh-out-loud funny” ★★★★★ – “Riotously fun. Hugely enjoyable” ★★★★★ – “The ultimate British theatrical experience” – Hastings Independent Press ★★★★★ – “Great fun for the whole family…my kids are still talking about it!” On Sunday 15th June, join us at Coventry Cathedral. Bring your own cushions, and camping-chairs and join us on our 10th anniversary open-air adventure. Come prepared for the weather - the performance will continue come rain come shine! This performance is an outdoor performance. We recommend that you bring blankets/chairs/cushions etc. to sit on. Come prepared for the weather with warm coats and waterproofs etc, as the performance will continue come rain come shine! We ask that you don’t bring umbrellas as these can obscure the view for other people in the audience. 7pm start time, picnics welcome from 6pm. The performance will last approximately 100 minutes (+ a 20 minute interval). We recommend booking tickets for this performance online in advance. The Most Perilous Comedie of Elizabeth I - at Coventry Cathedral | Coventry Cathedral
Jun 15, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
★★★★★ – “So entertaining…laugh-out-loud funny”
★★★★★ – “Riotously fun. Hugely enjoyable”
★★★★★ – “The ultimate British theatrical experience” – Hastings Independent Press
★★★★★ – “Great fun for the whole family…my kids are still talking about it!”

Magical midsummer storytelling for kids (Warwick) | Guys Cliffe
Jun 21, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Coventry
Award-winning storyteller Jason Buck brings midsummer stories to the woods of Guys Cliffe historic site, where there'll be adventure, excitement, comedy and even some spine-tingling moments. Bring a picnic chair and relax among the trees on this special day, surrounded by the part-ruined stately home and site of mystical significance, where crusaders and religious hermits once lived in the caves, and there are even rumours of a Roman temple, carved from the rock on-site. Ages: Children (6) and families. Siblings infants, free. My friends and I saw Jason in Leamington last night and I was absolutely blown away. It was my first time at one of his events and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I can't recommend these events enough. Erika, Warwickshire Jason Buck is a man made of myth, magic and mead. His stories are filled with adventure, his beard is full of unexpected twists and his tankard filled with a poet's brew. Sit around the fire and listen to his tales - you won't be disappointed. Abbie, Strange Times Storytelling ClubIMPORTANT The site of Guys Cliffe is an old site, and the the storytelling will be taking place in woodland, so please be aware that the floor will be uneven, with poor accessibility for those with mobility issues, and we are subject to the English weatherThere is plenty of parking on-site
