Ford
From the company that has brought you A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A Christmas Carol, Blithe Spirit, and Merry Crisis, The Forth Act now brings you Shakespeare's comedy 'Twelfth Night' and we will again be performing at the Sunken Garden in Saughton Park, Edinburgh. Twelfth Night is an iconic tale of separated siblings and mistaken identity. Viola and Sebastian are twins who both survive a shipwreck but each think the other has been lost to the waves. Viola disguises herself as a man called Cesario, and goes into the service of Count Orsino of Ilyria who uses them to communicate messages of love on his behalf to Olivia, but Olivia falls for Cesario instead. Cesario/Viola, however is catching feelings for Orsino, love triangle with added complications much! Meanwhile chaos and trickery are brewing amongst Olivia's household when Malvolio, her Steward, annoys her uncle, Sir Toby Belch and the other servants who plot to make a fool of him. As all this is going on Sebastian, Viola's twin, is on his way to Ilyria as well where his arrival may cause even more confusion. About this event

Queer ○ Zine Workshop | The Create Place
Jun 29, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Ford
In this workshop, we will explore queerness through warm-up activities, creative prompts, and a relaxed block of time to make mini-zines that help you reflect on the importance of Pride Month 🏳️🌈 To celebrate #Pride2025, this queer zine-making workshop is a creative space for LGBTQIA+ folks and allies to explore self-expression, identity, share stories, and connect through the accessible art form of collage. Queer representation in art and media is vital for visibility, affirmation, and challenging harmful stereotypes. With their DIY spirit, zines are a powerful tool for queer expression, allowing LGBTQIA+ creators to share unfiltered stories without the unfair publishing industry barriers such as gatekeeping. This intersection between zines and queerness has deep roots in activism, offering safe spaces, fostering solidarity, and empowering queer voices to experiment freely and build community on their own terms. So during our workshop, you won’t just be creating art; you'll be contributing to a long-standing legacy of queer resistance, empowerment, and radical self-expression. You do not need any prior experience to take part (though we always do like to welcome back familiar faces!) and included with your ticket is a bespoke handmade envelope full of collage cut-outs to use on the day or take home for later. Embrace the element of chance, make new like-minded friends, join our supportive community, and most importantly – have fun delving into the zine-making process! Still unsure about coming along? Check this to see how one of our previous zine workshops went, or read anonymously submitted feedback here from previous participants. We are releasing a range of ticket price options in the hope that everyone will be able to take part. There are a limited number of each ticket option available, therefore we kindly ask that you do an honest assessment of your affordability to ensure the intended equal access. Here's a guide to help inform your choice: ✴️ £10 (covers some of our costs) – I am a student, unemployed, on benefits, financially stressed, or regularly struggle to meet my basic needs ✴️ £12 (covers most of our costs) – I am employed, have some expendable income, and manage to meet my basic needs ✴️ £15 (covers all of our costs and supports future workshops) – I am employed or have enough savings to comfortably meet my basic needs
